    Yes.

Have you really looked at the economic impact of closing the border? I suggest you do so.

Or, you are proving my point.

Trump backed off on the Mueller Report, too.

Trump lied to Americans again. I knew it when he said it. It was just a matter of time before he backtracked.

“Let people see it. That’s up to the attorney general,” Trump told reporters on March 20. Yes, he just contradicted himself. Trump has a problem with the English language. “There was no collusion. There was no obstruction. There was no nothing,” he added. The point is, he wanted to "let people see it," or so he said.

Now his tune has changed. Like I said, it was just a matter of time. Trump is transparent and highly predictable.

Today Trump dismissed Democrats’ efforts to compel the release of special counsel Robert Mueller's full report as a "somewhat of a waste of time" on the eve of a House panel vote to authorize a subpoena for the entire document and its underlying evidence.

"So there’s no collusion. The attorney general now and the deputy attorney general ruled no obstruction. They said no obstruction," Trump said during an Oval Office meeting with the head of NATO. Writer's note: Trump is lying again. He has not seen the Mueller Report. He knows as much as we do about what is in the report, which is absolutely nothing.

"So there’s no collusion, there’s no obstruction, and now we’re going to start this process all over again?" he continued. "I think it’s a disgrace. These are just Democrats that want to try and demean this country, and it shouldn’t be allowed."

“There is no amount of testimony or document production that can satisfy Jerry Nadler or Shifty Adam Schiff,” Trump tweeted earlier, naming two top House Democrats seeking the report. “It is now time to focus exclusively on properly running our great Country!”

Again, Trump is lying to Americans. On the issue of the Mueller Report and White Houses staffers appearing before Democratic House committees, Trump has refused every time. He has given the House nothing.

Can we believe anything Trump says?

Did you read the OP? The OP defined the title. Trump supporters in Michigan cheered a threat to our nation's economy.

Do you have a problem with the truth?

Oh yes, the hysterical gnashing of teeth over a threat. Maybe you should call the democrat congress critters that will do nothing to address the issue and let them know they should be doing their jobs for a change instead of gotcha politics.

Anything that causes us a minor inconvenience will devastate them.

When they learn not to bus people to our southern border we can open it back up.

They can probably manage trained-in tasks like cheering fascists and moving beer refrigerators nearer their EZboys. I've seen an occasional properly spelled word emerge from the keyboard stab dance they do. Most responders picked the bag of rocks.

This has to be the dumbest thing I’ve read. Trump is supposedly the guy who colluded and obstructed justice and was extensively investigated. But he, the subject, doesn’t know what’s in the report. Are you saying the report is made up? That’s the only option if Trump doesn’t know what’s in it. Good grief.

A threat by the President to cause economic chaos is hysterical?

Just how intelligent are Trump supporters?

You are proving my point with every post. Thank you.

    :?: :?: :?:

You seem to be implying that Trump knows the report will show his collaboration with Russia. Yes, I think you are right. That would explain why he is backing down on his statements about the report going public.

That said, we know Trump has not seen the report. He has no idea what it says. He has no idea of the underlying evidence, testimony, documents, grand jury testimony, and tapes. He doesn't know what Mueller concluded. He only knows what his agent concluded in a four page summary of 400 page report.

I am rather surprised you didn't know that.

The title of the thread is insulting to a group. The title has nothing to do with the subject of the thread. This violates forum rules on at least two levels.
How intelligent are democrat supporters? You refuse to support securing the border, to fund a wall and update our outdated immigration laws.

Closing the borders to pressure MEXICO to do more to secure their side of the border is very smart and why President Trump is a genius negotiator and deal maker. He's trying to fix the problem from multiple angles and directions.

How stupid of democrats not to be in favor of doing this to solve the problem? Democrats oppose but have NO PLAN! Yeah, let's steal that ignorant meme from democrats about healthcare and repeat, DEMOCRATS HAVE NO PLAN FOR THE BORDER OR IMMIGRATION CRISIS.

Uh huh, you think we import tacos?

    https://www.inside-mexico.com/what-does-mexico-export-to-the-us/

I must have missed tacos on the list. All I see is money.

Oh and butt hurt is either two words or a hyphenate. Google is your friend. Though it's probably not the first time you've googled that term.

Yes Sandy I know all that. Your statement that Trump doesn’t know any more about it than us is moronic. Unless the report is completely fabricated. Is that what you are saying?

The title of thread is based upon what Trump supporters did at a political rally. Did you read the OP? Do you have a problem with the truth? If it is insulting to Trump supporters, then truth is insulting to Trump supporters. I can't help that. If the truth bothers you, perhaps you should re-think your priorities.

As for "How intelligent are democrat supporters?" knock yourself out, if it is based on fact, an actual occurrence, not supposition from the White House website.

"My father is German -- was German," Trump said. "Born in a very wonderful place in Germany, so I have a great feeling for Germany."

Fred Trump was, of course, born in New York City.

"If you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations, your house just went down 75 percent in value. And they say the noise causes cancer," he said.

There is no evidence noise from wind turbines can cause cancer.

Trump on Tuesday night told attendees at the National Republican Congressional Committee fundraising dinner that the media would get wind of his comments.

Trump's speech was open to the media.

Trump is not a well man.

What puzzles me is that Trump Republicans in Congress led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell follow this fool like lemmings over a cliff. Trump declared the mid-terms a referendum on him -- as dumb as that was -- and the GOP lost badly. Still, they don't get it. Trump Republicans do what Trump wants them to do even if they are smacking their nose to spite their face. They support Trump's attempt to weaken the powers of Congress by usurping the power of the purse, a fundamental power of Congress according to our Constitution.

I can understand the grass roots level base not understanding all this, but members of Congress?!? That's ludicrous.

I speak from the standpoint of a Republican. I want my party back. I want the return of true conservatism.

You always make this claim but never seem to come out in support of any Republican issue.

What issues make you a Republican? If you could create your own version of Republican utopia, what 3 issues would you enact immediately?

What do you want back? Neoconservatism? Perhaps another war here or there, perhaps another Faustian bargain with the left for some big money donors?

No thank you. Trump didn't lose in the midterms. The establishment Never-Trumper GOP RINOs lost. They got tired of winning in fact and quit. We didn't lose the House, Paul Ryan and his brand of appeasement donor class gave it away. Why should he care? The establishment Democrats are in the same bed as the establishment GOP.

Who do they think they are? Bill Mahler?

How intelligent are Trump supporters? Simple answer, just as intelligent as his opponents. That someone disagrees with you makes them neither evil nor stupid. Anyone who assumes that IS evil and stupid.

"Ho-hum, Trump threatened to close the border again. Trump told a Michigan crowd he.would "close the damn border next week" if Mexico did not do more to stem illegal immigration."

That was written last Friday, one day after Trump made the meaningless threat. The implication of my statement was that, in keeping with "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" principle, Trump would back down. It was only a matter of time.

Trump thought last week was a good time to push for repeal and replace Obamacare.

"Let me tell you exactly what my message is: The Republican party will soon be known as the party of health care," Trump told reporters on Capitol Hill. "You watch."

The Republican failure to deal with health care when they controlled both houses of Congress led to their downfall in the 2018 mid-terms. The lost the House of Representatives, state houses, state legislatures, and held on the Senate by the skin of their teeth despite having 26 to 9 advantage in the races.

In terms of the destruction of his own party, Trump wasn't through. Next, he proclaimed that he intended in shut down the southern border if Mexico didn't comply with his demands. Economics 101 tells us shutting down the border would cause an economic apocalypse.

As expected, Trump is backing down on both issues. This has happened over and over again. A sensible person never takes Trump's threats seriously.

I wrote that on Tuesday. At the same time Trump changed his mind about the public release of Mueller Report.

Facing widespread opposition, Trump backed down Thursday from his threat to close the southern border, instead giving Mexico a “one-year warning.”

After his foolish announcement last week his aides were baffled. The Post, writes "In the days after his tweet, Trump and his senior advisers issued conflicting signals about his intentions, with some aides privately expressing befuddlement over his strategy. The president offered no public details, and aides worked behind-the-scenes to craft a plan that would satisfy Trump but minimize the economic harm."

"Those efforts were rendered moot on Thursday when Trump, in an exchange with reporters at the White House, suddenly shifted gears, saying that if Mexico does not stem the flow of drugs and migrants into the United States within the next year, he will impose first tariffs on cars and then, possibly, close the border."

“We’re going to give them a one-year warning, and if the drugs don’t stop or largely stop, we’re going to put tariffs on Mexico and products, particularly cars,” Trump said. “And if that doesn’t stop the drugs, we close the border.”

Can we believe anything the man says?

So, Trump abandons one threat and issues another.

    Who gives a shyt?

No, it does not. That resolution concerned Trump's wall, not the immigration crisis. There were not enough GOP votes in the House and the Senate to override the veto.

What does that mean? It means Trump Republicans in Congress support Trump's attempt to usurp the power of the purse from Congress, as insane as that sounds.

But then, Trump Republicans are not Republicans.
