We won't know where the party's at until they have a nominee. In any event, there will be a lot pressure on the losing faction to back the nominee. Whoever wins will have a lot of room to move back to the political middle. Trump has to hope Democrats will nominate someone like Sanders or Warren he can attack.

 

Yeah, she's so caring she trivialized the murder of 3,000 innocents on 9/11. She feels her and her fellow traveller's pain, but not much for anyone else.

Democrats today are hauling down the statues of Nathan Bedford Forrest, a KKK founder, and Republicans are the ones trying to keep them, as well as the statues of other traitors like Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and Jefferson Davis.

So, then, are you ready to haul down the statues of the aforementioned traitors and put them in Confederate soldier cemeteries and museums where they belong?

It's really oddly appropriate that you guys should bring up WWII. for in that war we interned millions of Japanese-AMERICANS, who then turned out to give us the most decorated military regiment in our history, and this is the kind of thing Omar is saying CAIR is against. But then you guys are probably a bunch of Coulterites who think we ought to intern the muslims too.

She didn't say "9/11 was merely some peop.....". The right is trying to spin a "figure of speech" into a crime. If she had elaborated with precision that would satisfy the right, it would have detracted from the point she was making.

Are liberals hoping to get something on Trump? Sure, why not? The smarter money is on moving on to bread and butter issues like health care.

Jimmy Carter is credited with pulling off an economic feat that was considered impossible: stagflation. This is the combination of high inflation and low economic growth.

OTOH, Carter did have the political courage to appoint Volcker as Fed Chair when everyone knew Volcker would run up interest rates to kill inflation. The resulting recession probably cost Carter the 1980 election.
