Putting American flags on police cars sparks backlash in Laguna Beach

Guys, gals, are any of you offended by the American flag in the below picture? I would seem some California liberals are.

Liberals are really beginning to show their true selves. They endorse kneeling for the anthem and call it a racist song, and they endorse burning our flag because, and I'm paraphrasing Pelosi, protesting is patriotic. What's next, being offended by our flag flying in front of a school or post office?

True story: Years ago I used to date a woman who eventually wound up being a delegate for Bernie Sanders in Philly. A few months ago she was running for some position in CA's democrat party and asked me to help her make a poster using Photoshop. She gave me 4 little pictures that represent different groups which support the party and wanted me to put them on the poster. I asked her if I should put an American flag on it and she said the other members of her party saw that one of her competitors for the same position had an American flag on his poster and that was met with strong disapproval so she turned down my suggestion. She said the American flag was 'too republicany' and should be avoided because people associate the flag with republicans. This is the state of mind of California liberals.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way the American flag is portrayed on the below police car and if anyone disagrees with me can you please explain why.

 

If you are offended by the Stars and Stripes you have ZERO business even being in this country.

 

Why should anyone give a **** about what a visitor or immigrant thinks/feels about the flag of this nation on a patrol vehicle? No one should care, at all.

 

There's me thinking that this madness only happened in the UK.

 

I've been to America a few times and tried everything American. I avoid British themed diners etc.. when on holiday. The only thing that annoyed me was I thought I'd bought an American baseball. Some weeks later, I noticed the tiny letters on the back, "Made in China", so I threw it out.

I don’t think I have ever seen a British themed diner before. Maybe the signs are in Arabic and I just can’t read them.

I object to this, but then I object to most displays of the flag. Overt patriotism is oft-putting. It's just a form of virtue signalling. Also, local police forces should stay away from nationalistic imagery.

Texas was also talking about secession. In both cases, no one took it seriously.

 

I think it is worse that people want our national symbol censored or claim it is somehow offensive.

You are talking to who actively aid, abet, encourage, and protect foreign nationals who violate our border at will, about the rule of law. A total waist of time.

 

I don't think it's offensive or should be censored, although I know where people like that or coming from, and I'll give you their argument:

When Trump attacked Colin Kaepernick (called him an S.O.B.) for kneeling during the anthem to protest police shootings of blacks, a lot of people saw that as a pretty obvious dog whistle to racists. Trump also routinely gets away with stuff Obama would have been lynched in effigy for: attacking POW's, cheating on his wives, paying off porn stars, falling in love with the leader of N. Korea, etc., etc.

Imagine if Obama had said this about McCain during the 2008 election: “He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.” Of course you know what the reaction would have been. So people like me look at that and think: Hmmm. That's quite a double standard there. I wonder why Trump can get away with stuff like that...?

So you tell me, why can Trump get away with stuff like that?
