I am ok with a buy back program though, as all that means is people that have guns that do not want them can have a place to easily get rid of them

This sounds like cherry picking to me.

The NRA is part that outlaw culture. They've done a lot to make it hard for gun laws to be enforced. They know that prosecution and lawsuits are not good for gun industry profits.

Totally false, the NRA has gone a long way to get reasonable gun laws enacted and a longer way to block unreasonable gun laws from being enacted.

And I have already explained what needs to be done to make that happen.

Then the united kingdom and the united states are not comparable to one another.

And the united state supreme court ruled in the Heller decision that such does not matter, as a handgun prohibition is unconstitutional at all levels of scrutiny.

Except for the simple fact that such cannot actually be proven. Legal firearms ownership has no connection to illegal firearms use.

Then by all means, feel free to actually go about demonstrating how such is the case.

Pray tell exactly how so? Exactly what has the NRA done to make it difficult for any firearm-related restrictions to be enforced? Is the NRA the party responsible for forcing prosecutors to not pursue firearm-related offenses? Is the NRA the party responsible for forcing judges to hand down suspended sentences for firearm-related offenses?

The firearms industry gains no financial benefit or incentive from the illegal trade and use of firearms by those who legally cannot possess them under any circumstances. Federal law dictates that firearm manufacturers can only sell firearms to federally licensed dealers, who must have a valid license to engage in the business of selling firearms to the public. Federal law dictates that federally licensed firearm dealers can only sell to those who possess no disqualifying records, and noncompliance can be punished by license revocation and criminal charges. There is simply no way, none whatsoever, for the firearms industry to legally benefit from the illegal use of their products.

"THE ATF: OVERLOADED AND UNDERMANNED, LIKE THE GUN LOBBY WANTS"
    https://gunresponsibility.org/news/atf-overload-undermanned-like-gun-lobby-wants/

The NRA pays lip service to the idea of fighting crime while undermining law enforcement's ability to do its job effectively.

    Your post is total bullcrap.

All it address's is FFL's who have gone out of business and the fact the BATF doesn't take seriously storing the 4473's properly.

    Want to try again?

A former NRA insider makes a chilling admission:

"For most of the past 20 years, Robert Ricker was a top lawyer for the NRA as well as the chief spokesman for the gun industry, which relied on him to argue the industry's position against gun control....

"That's why it came as such a surprise when he told Correspondent Ed Bradley that many of the things he said all those years weren't true.

"What is true, Ricker says, is that gun manufacturers have long known that distributors and retailers supply thousands of guns each year to criminals, and yet gun makers deliberately look the other way....

"Ricker disagrees. 'This is spin. This is what I used to do for the industry,' he says. 'The National Rifle Association, every year, is before the appropriations committees on Capitol Hill advocating that ATF's budget be cut. They know that ATF does not have the manpower or the money to do an adequate job enforcing our gun laws.' "
    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/firing-back/

Yup. The NRA is part of the outlaw culture that Xenamnes brought up. Not selling guns to violent criminals would result in a significant reduction in gun industry profits. The NRA protects such profits at all costs.

Totally false and your lack a source that actually links the "insider" to the NRA proves nothing.

On top of that the NRA has supported the BATF, when it comes to enforcing all federal firearm laws, which has proven without a doubt to lower gun crimes.

Is there any evidence that the advocating by the NRA has actually led to any specific budget cuts for the ATF? Does the ATF not have anyone to advocate on its behalf?

The article presented on the part of yourself presents the claim that the NRA is making a request for reduced funding for the ATF. There is nothing found within the article to show the appropriations committee is actually heeding the request, and reducing the budget of the ATF as a result.

There is evidence, however, of the ATF having a very long, very established, very documented history of engaging in criminal behavior with nothing in the way of oversight. The only reason the ATF has not been shut down permanently, and its duties assigned to other agencies, is because no other agency wishes to have ATF personnel added to its staff.

How is it cherrypicking when some of the laws you propose are unconstitutional to begin with.

Suing a company for the misdeeds of an individual is not how our system works.

Like suing GM when a Jihadist uses one of their SUV's to kill a marketplace of innocents.

It doesn't work that way here.

Which of those countries actually has rights? I see a list of countries that have privileges that can be taken on a whim. No thanks, we don't need that sort of oppression here...

The U.K.s average temperature is significantly cooler than that in the United States.

    Notice any global pattern?

I'm sure if we correlated homicide rates by country with global latitude an interesting pattern would emerge.

Countries in the farther north (or south) temperate latitudes have lower murder rates.

Indeed. It is a well known phenomena that violent crime rises in frequency as external temperatures rise. It has been suggested that racially charged trials in the U.S. be timed so that the verdicts come out during cooler weather to minimize the chances of rioting.
