    Solar for home, Yes.
    No to Solar Farms
as carpeting the desert with mirrors gets a Free Pass and GREEN Label for the ecological destruction it creates.

    No Solar Energy Farms.
    No Naked Roofs.
    Solar All Roofs.

Before the Rural Electrification Act was fully implemented, all across the Midwest farmers had these type of windmills. Jacobs were the most popular. A popular system used batteries and ran on 28 volts. It used to be common place to find products that ran on the 28 volts. Before most of us were born.

Now we have a LOT of products that run on 12 volts thanks to the RV industry. It makes sense for many to now go “off grid”

More birds die flying into glass buildings

And the bird would have to fly between the panels and the tower

Portable power tools also seem to all have gone cordless. Most now use 20V lithium batteries. With enough batteries, carpenters can now work all day without power or an electric generator.

In Colorado, roughly between Golden and Boulder is a place called Rocky Flats. They used to make nuclear triggers there, which has rendered the area unfit for most human activities. But nonetheless, the site regularly sees extremes in wind speeds. From near still air to winds 70mph or more. Enough to roll over trucks and mobile homes. Some days the wind is constant, some days coming in spurts. The extremes make it an ideal site for testing windmills.

NREL has a facility there. Just about every type of windmill ever made, is represented. It is the largest and best windmill testing site in the world.

Why two steps? Net loss of energy.
Generate the electricity directly from the windmill

The wind does not blow at a constant rate. There are also experiments where they used windmills where they caused large flywheels to spin, deriving an evened out rate of power generation.

We have been living with electricity for over a century now. If there was a link to it causing cancer it would have become obvious by now. Small birds and rodents live around transformers and pylons and there is no sign of cancer among them.

The only known instances of hand held devices causing cancer where the cops using radar guns that they were resting in their laps and they developed testicular cancer.

Hundreds of millions of people are using cell phones every day but there has been no increase in cancer.

They were handheld devices that they could just point out the window and get a reading on a vehicle going by.

Have you noticed in your car battery that there eight cells in series at1.5 volts each for a total of 12V? They do not have a bunch of small cells.
Makes you wonder why Europe, especially France uses nuclear power.
It isn't the electricity itself, it is the equipment used to process the electricity.
What about all the concern with cell phones up next to your ear? It is the same general type of radiation.

How about concerns with cancer and other neurological problems with living near and under high voltage electrical transmission lines?

All that electronics over a large area are generating the same general type of radiation.

Europe is looking to phase out nukes after they phase out coal.

As far as 'radiation' from electricity itself is concerned that is a nonstarter. Electricity is part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we have all evolved to live with on our planet. It occurs in nature so let's take that off the table.

The various forms of radiation that we create via electricity can cause cancer, especially those related to radar waves. Microwaves will cook your insides rather than cause cancer. How many people have microwaves on low tables and never worry about them irradiating their testicles? ;)

In essence there is nothing at all to fear from the electricity in our homes.

Just go ahead and hold that cell phone up to your ear 14-7. No problem. Go ahead and build your house under power lines. No problem.
That is low voltage and puts out little electromagnetic energy.
Do you realize they can detect lightning hundreds of miles away using the electromagnetic radiation? It is not a problem for humans because of the short duration. Not like the continuous radiation put out by huge transformers and other equipment.

I recommend you do a little more study.
"Potential health concerns about power lines were first raised in a 1979 study which associated increased risk of childhood leukemia with residential proximity to power lines. More recent studies such as that by Draper et al., confirm a reported association between elevated risk of childhood leukemia and proximity to resdiential power lines, but failed to clarify whether the observed association is causal or coincidental. Some scientists have argued the physical impossibility of any health effect due to weak ambient levels of EMFs, while others maintain that the potential health risks should not be dismissed even though the evidence remains equivocal and contradictory."

And how many batteries do you think we will need and how many rare earths do we have to make them? Or how much lead do you think we need to mine to manufacture sufficient lead acid batteries to power the country?
