    Read this article:
    https://www.latimes.com/local/california/la-me-chabad-fraud-20141213-story.html

What's most disturbing to me is that $272,000 of federal taxpayer money was going towards paying for security cameras for the California branch of a religious organization.

I know Jews are not safe in America, but is that just another cost we have to incur due to muslim refugee immigration?
We're talking about just one religious organization in one state. Where else is all this federal grant money going?
How much is this actually costing the country??

Yes, the Jews need protection. There isn't even a question about it. It's just a matter of modern law and security.

A Jewish group is convicted of defrauding the government yet you still find a way to blame it all on Muslims? Maybe they'll need support to protect themselves from you.

    That's not the issue here.

Shouldn't a church or religious organization pay for its own security?
Do I ask the government to pay for a burglar alarm system for me, or pay for putting up a tall fence around my yard? (Well, Obama got that, but he was a former President)

I know government pays for police, that's only natural. But should government be paying for security cameras in private non-government buildings?

This doesn't seem to be a law only for Jewish organizations. Based on your link, this was a program non profits could apply for. The problem seems to be that the synagogue didn't use it for its attended purpose.

I understand the reasons why but yeah this is what happens when church and state mix like this. It's complicated. But it looks like they have to pay.

Normally, I would say yes it isn't the government's job to pay to protect a private religious group. But since they are a targetted group it becomes a law enforcement priority. It's the same reason that police patrol black neighborhoods. That's where the crime is. Unless you want to argue that the crime comes from having a film of a crime, or catching more criminals just because the police are there.

A church or religious organization should pay for their own security. As should a private company or citizen. Don't see how this sort of thing can be justified.
