Ahh, and you were doing so good. Actually it was Clinton's idea. In the evening of Oct. 28, 1997, House Speaker Newt Gingrich headed to the White House to meet with President Bill Clinton, ostensibly to hammer out final details of the 1998 budget. In reality, Gingrich and Clinton were putting finishing touches on a deal to create a centrist political coalition to fix long-term problems facing Social Security and Medicare. https://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2008/05/29/the-pact-between-bill-clinton-and-newt-gingrich
Ideas of privatization date back well before Clinton. But it’s nice to see he was willing to get on board, seems like he might be the only Dem that saw the light, because the party certainly had fought it, as recent as with bush’s actually proposal, and Ryan’s even more recent
That's because slick willy was the only one smart enough to work a bipartisan deal. It's the same problem Trump has now. But anyway, now you know you are a closet Democrat.
Hahah privitazatiom if SS is now a Dem idea!? Hahahah!! I agree CLinton was one of the last reasonable Dems, who saw the writing on the wall when it came to SS, welfare and the economy and was willing to work with the GOP, but that ship has sailed the left has been taken over by the radicals.
I've reinforced your argument?? Your position initially in this thread: You went from complete government run healthcare to a public option. Back track much?
No, they are a business who's primary purpose is to turn a profit. The problem is that the hospitals see Medicare, with it's poor track record on oversight, as a cash cow that is to be milked on a regular basis. And you get to pay for it.
Not sure how to post a redacted invoice. But the hospital was Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell NM
Unfortunately the coughing began to cause us concern at about 2AM, and as the wife is 72 something akin to panic set in and we couldn't wait.
That maybe true, but who’s fault is it that Medicare/Medicaid have such a horrible history of oversight?
I do blame illegals and stupid federal cort decisions for at least part of the rising hospital costs When the courts require hospitals to treat illegals for free its never free Someone has to pay One other contributator is medical malpractice insurance With personal injury lawyers chasing every ambulance that goes by hoping to wring millions out the hospital that drives up healthcare costs too
Most other countries have 1/10th of the population... they also dont have 30 million people not working who abuse the system... But to your point, the healthcare systems in the "socialist" countries of Europe are collapsing. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.po...t-drug-pricing-medicines-public-services/amp/ It sounds really cool until you actually understand what is happening to their healthcare systems.
I never claimed you did. You did, however, claim I did, and finally quoted what I did say, revealing a misunderstanding on your part. Were you hoping to distract from the question you never addressed? If you pay taxes, you are being forced to buy soda, energy drinks, and other sugary drinks for others. You either support that or you don't.
I never claimed you said "they are being forced to consume it" I don't support people who are able-bodied or able-minded being on welfare. But if we're going to give these people welfare how do we dictate that they can only eat certain foods? How do we monitor something like that? You realize they will just use cash to buy soda, chips, cookies, etc. I don't like that these people have the diets they have anymore than I don't like the diets of middle class and rich people who are disgusting fat fcuks.
Yes you did. Here it is: Now that the misunderstanding has been resolved, The main reason health care is an issue is the current level of sickness. If Americans were healthy, we would not be having this discussion. Why are Americans fatter and sicker than ever? It is no secret. Corn is only one of many examples of how you and I are being forced to buy what is making people sick. The solution to our health care issue is prevention.
Ok my bad. I can admit when I’m wrong. That being said....Americans are fatter and sicker because of their own choices. These people choose to eat unhealthy foods at a larger than normal portion size and not exercise. And make no mistake, it’s not just people on welfare who are fat fcuks. There are also middle class and rich people who are fatter and sicker than ever too.
Even those who are not on Welfare are drinking sweetened beverages that you and I helped pay for. While choice is certainly a factor, we can't ignore the fact that sugar is addictive. The only solution to our healthcare issues is prevention. We need to end subsidies for unhealthy products.
An umbilical hernia is not an emergency. In countries with socialized medicine, there is longer documented waiting periods for non-emergency treatments. Also, the US is near the top globally in patient satisfaction.
There is no concrete evidence that links sugar with an addiction/withdrawal system in humans. Prevention clearly doesn’t work with people who are obese. If it did they wouldn’t be obese. End all the subsidies for unhealthy products all you like but these products aren’t going anywhere. We as a nation are getting fatter because we have gotten lazier and lazier as time goes on.
The US is typically ranked #4 or #5 below countries that spend a significant percent less than we do. Once you add cost and accessibility we plumit however.
Okay, but you said most countries and significantly higher, both of which are obviously false. You get what you pay for my man. Do we need to post a list of the best hospitals in the world? I'm not saying a system that rations on ability to pay and doesn't control prices is ideal, but it provides the best care in the world for those who have access to it.
You are incorrect. Sugar is addictive and there is a ton of information on the subject available. Anything that causes the release of dopamine is habit forming. Companies like PepsiCo understand the simple psychology of addiction. Trigger, response, reward. When it comes to obesity and the conditions that go with it, prevention is the ONLY thing that works. The only problem is that there is no profit in prevention. One would think that our government would not allow big business to profit from poisoning people, but they do.
