Sri Lanka Bans Burqas and Niqabs One Week After Easter Bombings

In an effort to identify potential terrorists the government of Shi Lanka has banned all face concealing head coverings. It turned out that many Burqas wearing women were also involved in the terrorist activities.

    https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/20...as-and-niqabs-one-week-after-easter-bombings/

So is this a good thing because it is practical in nature or is it a bad thing because the FEELINGS of potential terrorists must be protected and nurtured at any and all costs to the surrounding population of innocent potential victims?

So Sri Lanka has joined other parts of the world and is banning the burka........
Will Australia follow suit.....not in a million fkn years....we are the most successful multicultural
nation on the planet....we must be... Morrison says so...and our politicial leaders tell us..sorry...demand that we embrace islam...the religion of peace....
Why then is there a need to ban the burka.....

I'd say it's a bad thing because it takes away personal liberty.

I don't have a problem with face coverings generally.

If you want to wear a helmet walking around town all the power to ya. If you want to wear it into private property like a bank then it's up to the property owner.

    Same goes for burqas.

Not quite right. Helmet doesn't cover your face, only your skull, so you could be recognized. That's the reason you cannot wear a mask around town - it hides your face. Only criminals and Muslims hide their faces.
Remember the attack on the Iranian parliament? Well, the terrorist were disguised as women in burkas. There you go.

 There's always one . . . or these days fifty?

I recall a case here where a suspect bomber was caught at Heathrow airport and he was wearing a burqa.

Have you ever had occasion to converse with someone wearing a full-face covering? I'd guess not!

Helmet with a dark tint is just an example. Bandana completely covering the face with a full black trenchcoat incl. turtleneck is another example.

On principle I have no problem with people hiding their identity in public.

Why then are burkas banned in Sri Lanka and various other parts of the world...
Couldnt be because of the possible danger of the islamic dregs of humanity hiding
behind a convenient head covering, now could it.....common sense to ban it in all western civilization.....

I have talked to women in burqas, yes. Your point being that it's more difficult than talking to other people?

I didn't mean talking to them in passing, I mean conversationally. So my question wasn't Do you find it difficult 'talking to other people', it was Do you find it difficult talking to someone whose face you can't see? Jesus!!

How would the ban stop a suicide bomber?

Fake title. All face coverings are banned. The ban has nothing to do with stopping future attacks or potential terrorists. It is being used in the same way that CCTV is used to investigate crimes; the same CCTV that so many in the US state that it is an infringement on their rights

Australians used to be one of the most kick-rump and tough people on Earth not so very many decades ago. I suspect that eventually the men and women with spines will get enough of their leftists selling out their culture and their people and their heritage on the altar Political Correctness and of appeasement and 'go along to get along' and then after a period of -- er -- readjustment, things will return to a point and balance of sanity in that fine nation.

Facial recognition programs screening for terrorists and for known associates and family members of terrorists depend upon being able to -- gasp! -- scan the face.
