That is not what you stated at all. You stated that college was highly overrated and gave two examples as your proof. That was incorrect as citing two examples does not in any way prove that college is overrated.
Hmmm. It’s highly overrated as a path to success. Better you find an idea you love, make it real, and with your created wealth, buy a ticket on Virgin Galactic and enjoy your honeymoon on the moon. Translation: live the life you want instead of wasting it on a diploma mill.
That's all dreamy and great, but you threw out two one-in-a-million examples. Few people make a living "doing what they love"; most jobs just pay the bills so then you can "live the life you want", not the other way around. Having said that, there is a calling for both college and trades. But I wouldn't get too sidetracked by the idea you've got to "love" your job, or that the average Joe is going to be the next Steve Jobs. That's how you end up still living in Mom's basement when you're 30, waiting for the "perfect job" or telling your friends you're "following your passion" while you game online all day.
Point well taken. Tis true, if you can’t fly like an eagle, better learn to settle for life as a mule walking the circle.
No. When I say engineering is difficult, I mean that the workload is difficult. Engineering majors spend hours on projects and don't have time to work on top of that.
Given few of us have wings, far wiser and more likely to result in a happy life, to accept those legs.
Why do you think American engineering is more difficult? We actually have one of the highest standards for the practice of engineering (and medicine) in the world.
So you equate time spent to difficulty? Again, mathematics blows engineering away even if that's your criteria. Engineering majors quit engineering because of the math, not the engineering.
They used to get fast food jobs, unfortunately they are all occupied by illegals. Keep that border wide open.
I'm not 'going with' anything. You said something that was flat out wrong and have done nothing but try to alter the conversation ever since.
Your ego obscures my point, which is that an engineering major has less time than most other majors to pursue a job.
'Less time than most' was NOT your point and it was not what you originally said. No sense having a conversation when you just alter your stance/point as you go.
You misunderstood my point. The entire point was that engineering students don't have time for a full-time job.
