No European would have done so?

See my earlier posts about France where hundreds of thousands of Algerians volunteered to fight in its army to liberate that country from the Nazis, only to have France invade Algeria after the war and kill 400,000 Algerians. It's amazing how right wingers conveniently disregard Western imperialism, colonialism, and terrorism. Luckily, there are patriots here to readily refute their mythologies. ;)

Just a reminder that Islam is the fastest growing religion in England, Europe, and the US with 60-70% of the converts being women. Thus, for the vast majority, wearing certain garments is a matter of choice, not a matter imposed by men. By denying women the choice to dress as they like, that takes away the personal liberty of these women.

So say you. They say different. Who are you to judge them in their personal preferences or lifestyle?

The members of the Christian faith own the biggest companies in their Christian countries who are preoccupied with making hardware to commit massacres. It is because their Christian armies are the biggest, by far, who indeed commit massacres all over the globe. And with that, they do kill far and FAR more people than Muslims do.

You're just a hater and ignorant.

The KKK is a Christian organisation.
Bit weird to think that they are just annoying.

They obtained that by violently oppressing about the entire world till around 1960's, to than switch to their geo-political games uprooting democracies and installing their fascist puppet regimes. Monks set themselves ablaze in protest of being subjected to this.

The point I was making is that you can't cherry-pick which religions to regulate.

This is a debate board and everyone involved is making judgements. That shouldn't surprise anyone.

Some people are leaving Islam also, despite the risk to their lives for doing so. What are the positives about Islam?

More people leave Christianity. What does that say about the religion that has killed more people than any other in history?

Christianity does not murder those that choose to leave it. Islam, however, does. Once one converts to islam, they are not allowed to renounce or leave the religion, as such makes them an infidel and they will be killed for such.

Most "Muslims" never go to a mosque, many drink alcohol, many eat bacon, most never pray, yet all these Muslims are still alive. How can that be

Yes. But if you get to ban burkas here in the west, then I should be able to ban Christians trying to worm their way into the classroom with creationist nonsense.

He, and many others, will likely be indifferent.

All these apologists for Islam means what's happening in Europe will eventually happen over here also. No European wears their "Je Suis Charlie" badges anymore.

At the risk of repeating myself, I'd proscribe all religions if I could.

    Sorry Fred.

That wouldn't do any good. People would only gather 'round some other dangerous beliefs, probably political. Look how many people died as a result of Communism, an economic belief often argued as a valid alternative to Capitalism. (actually it was Democracy versus Totalitarianism)

Christians, Jews, Hindus, Atheists etc. are all okay if they don't try to force their views on others through laws, intimidation, or violence. If they do then it's our responsibility as sentient human beings to speak against them. That's what we're doing now with Islam.

Well I've often wondered what it is that drives otherwise intelligent people to have the urge to 'follow' something or someone, and to not recognize what absolute drivel religious rites and rituals carried out by men in ornate frocks and ridiculous hats is: and especially I wonder why congregants condone child abuse by keeping their membership of the various religions, knowing that by continuing their association with it, de facto they are perpetuating the crime. In fact it's so against human nature not to protect children from these ruthless mutants that I put it down to religion per se being in the DNA, or the herd instinct in action. All I can say is I'm just so grateful it isn't in my DNA, and that by nature I'm the archetypal loner.

That's largely why I've never cared for rock concerts, even if I liked the music. To me it's the same herd mentality.

Certainly Christians, Jews, Hindus, etc. have behaved badly over the centuries but there are still things we can learn from all of them. Reading passages written centuries ago can show how wisdom can be passed on through many generations and we can recognize the humanity in much of it. "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things" is a favorite of mine and one I try to keep in mind.

And despite democracies occasionally behaving badly over the centuries I still wouldn't want to live under any other system.

I believe I'm only enlarging on your post.
