Well yes, but I assume that the law includes targeting individual members of each protected group, which probably means higher sentencing than if it was a person that isn't in a protected group. So its the same principle as any ridiculous hate crime law and such laws are unnecessary laws! A crime is a crime no matter who it targets!

We didn't get into 'perceived threats' yet. Those are for the benefit of women and non-Europeans. If a woman or non-European claims to "feel" threatened you can go to jail. But a white man never "feels threatened" apparently even if he is confronted by a gang of Arabs (for example) who mean-mouth you, call you slanderous names, and try to steal your possessions. If you are a white man in one of these circumstances (and you report it) you are considered a racist, a nazi, or a xenophobe and you will get no sympathy from the police. CORRECTION! You will get no sympathy from the judicial system.
