FISA was updated and amended some years back, I think in 2008 after Bush 43 admitted in public his administration had ignored the statute.

In that update and amendment process by the legislative branch, the new document included retroactive immunity to those who may have violated the statute.

That's how politicians protect themselves. The rule of law in this country does not exist.

Those judges need to either (a) go after the FBI / DOJ officials that withheld evidence and provided unverified evidence, or (b) be removed from the judiciary.

That is probably not within the purview of the FISA court.

The rule of law is dead in The Swamp there, and has been for some time.

You would think that if you were a judge and someone / anyone abused your court, that you could call them back in and at minimum have them charged with Contempt, and at maximum charge them with Perjury, Making False Statements, Withholding Exculpatory Evidence, and Conspiracy.

If that's true, then have at it. But you guys had unified control of government for two years, and still control the FBI, CIA, and DOJ. If something was going to come out, it would have come out by now.

It's all coming out now. What I just shared was discovered by Judicial Watch today as they got a document dump from Congressman Collins.

If it is reported with supporting documents, what will be your opinion of exculpatory evidence being withheld from the FISA judges by the Obama Administration?

    *Sigh*

Withholding from the FISA Court that Carter and Papadopolous both made statements that would nuke the Russia Collusion theory while being spied on is.

More fundamentally, though, much of the commentary claiming some clear breach of protocol in the Carter Page FISA simply misunderstands what it means to say that a FISA application has been “verified.” It does not mean that every tip provided by a source has been independently corroborated. Rather, “verification” refers to the process laid out in the so-called “Woods procedures,” which require Justice Department officials to verify that representations made in a submission to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court match the information in the FBI’s investigative files.

For more interesting reading, read the footnote in the warrant.

Bruce Ohr in testimony under oath claimed he informed all of those that signed the FISA Warrants with the Clinton/Steele Dossier used, that the Dossier was not verified and created from a highly biased source.

    https://thehill.com/opinion/white-h...t-false-intel-and-media-contacts-were-flagged

Notes and testimony from senior Justice Department official Bruce Ohr make clear Steele admitted early on that he was “desperate” to get Trump defeated in the election, was working in some capacity for the GOP candidate’s opponent, and considered his intelligence raw and untested. Ohr testified that he alerted FBI and other senior Justice officials to these concerns in August 2016.

    https://thehill.com/opinion/white-h...arned-steele-dossier-was-connected-to-clinton

The then-senior Department of Justice (DOJ) official briefed both senior FBI and DOJ officials in summer 2016 about Christopher Steele’s Russia dossier, explicitly cautioning that the British intelligence operative’s work was opposition research connected to Hillary Clinton’s campaign and might be biased.

Even Christopher Steele himself testified in front of British Courts that the Dossier was not verified.

That dossier should have never been used and they knew it.

There is a Yuge difference between when the law calls the information in the FISA warrant verified and what you seem to think it means. To the legal system it just means it matches information the FBI has on file. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think, you think it means they have verified the information as true. That is not what it means.

You can read the FISA application and see where they point out it was paid for by Trump's opponent.

    So in summary.

So when it's Trump, they don't have to verify it like the law says? Withholding exculpatory evidence from a FISA court is itself obstruction of justice.

What exculpatory evidence? They told them it was paid for by the Dems.

A corrupt ruling political class and its agents will always try to operate beyond the reach of the law - they usually succeed.

After over 2 years of investigating and finding nothing, I guess Mueller disproved it. And now it's Obama's and his band of criminals turn to be on the hot seat.

Not sure about that, but your problem is that AFTER they knew and stated internally it was unverified garbage, it was presented as evidence to the FISA court. That is conspiracy to commit some kind of wrongdoing.

They were really quite straight forward about it.

    upload_2019-5-21_16-20-13.png

If you read the entire document I think it will become clear the dossier was only a small portion of the evidence used to obtain the warrant.

    Which McCabe says is BS.

"We started the investigations without the dossier. We were proceeding with the investigations before we ever received that information," McCabe told CNN as part of a wide-ranging interview. "Was the dossier material important to the package? Of course, it was. As was every fact included in that package. Was it the majority of what was in the package? Absolutely not."
McCabe was fired Friday, less than two days shy of his official retirement.

Some Republicans lawmakers have attempted to cast the dossier as an inherently unreliable piece of opposition research because it was funded through the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton campaign, but McCabe says his testimony was "selectively quoted" and "mischaracterized" in order to bolster the claim that the dossier served as the essential linchpin to the surveillance warrant on Page.

I'll be outraged. I already think law enforcement has way too much power in this country. Liberals have been preaching this for decades. The system was fine with you guys as long as it was poor people and minorities being screwed over. It's only in the last year or so that Republicans really started to see that no matter if you're innocent or not, once you get in the crosshairs of the justice system, you're f-ed. Now imagine what it would be like if you couldn't afford a team of lawyers.
