Full title: Padma Lakshmi is accused of 'cultural appropriation' for wearing her hair in cornrows on basketball-themed Top Chef episode So now a hairstyle is cultural appropriation and in the liberal world that means it's racist. Can anyone here think of anything non white people have appropriated from white people? How about modern medicine, planes, guns and Microsoft Windows? Where I live, all the Italian food joints are owned by Mexicans, how will I ever recover from this insult? The left in this country is just dying to wake up everyday and find something to be offended and outraged over.
Good God...who cares how she wears her hair? Don't social media folks have ANYTHING BETTER TO DO??? This is why I deleted my FB account after about a week. It sucks the productivity right out of you. Of course I suppose some would say so do these forums!
What about black women who straighten their hair.... if this is cultural appropriation then that would be too...
Blond and red haired blacks with lightened skin. Major cultural appropriation. What a real red head looks like. Red Head Lives' Matter
So? If you have a thing for Redheads, then why didn't you just start a NEW Thread? instead of Necroing this Ancient BS from 3 and 1/2 Months ago? Anyway, this thread is Ancient, but (as far as I am concerned) Padma can wear her hair any way she wants. PS--Start a new thread next time. Nothing personal, just a friendly suggestion. Bumping a thread from February 9th?
Anything that keeps snowflake stupidity out there for all to see is quite alright. It seems that it's only you and your ilk that have a problem with that.
I just think that bumping old threads screws up the Forum Index. Hopefully, we will get some new directives from PF's Hard-Working Mod Team to reduce the number of these ridiculous bumped threads. Which are usually bumped as a RW Trolling tactic. Anyway, back on topic, I couldn't care less how she wears her hair.
Yep. This is the result of a bunch of resentful bitter people who've been given the authority to use a form of political correctness to intimidate and control others. They're puppet masters of sorts who have the ability to make society grovel and capitulate to their hysterics. They're nothing but paper tigers at the end of the day. They don't actually have any real power... other than what we grant them as a society. The solution is to make a mockery of them, and to be unapologetic, no matter what they're complaining about.
Well, in all honesty, we don’t give a flying fu*k what you think about bumping old threads...If you don’t like it then don’t revisit it and stop whining like a snowflake. See how easy that is?
This thread is about cultural appropriation. My post is about cultural appropriation by blacks dying their corn rows red and blonde in comparison to the white woman with corn rows who was accused of cultural appropriation. I don't need to start a new thread. I don't have a 'thing' about red heads. I am one and so are my two sons. I didn't "bump" anything. You actually remember posts from three months ago, are you 'researching' my past posts, or do you remember the woman with red hair ? She must have made an impression on you. Whatever. I think I may have used this picture before. Under what context I don't remember. You have to admit, she is a beautiful woman.
As long as you're not purposely mocking someone...this cultural appropriation stuff needs to fade away. At one time it was a legitimate issue. Now it is getting silly.
