there's many internal issues in both China and the US, China is debt ridden and expropriated land from 65 million Chinese villages, effectively impoverishing a sizeable chunk of potential consumers to grow demand for their products domestically. The US I could spend a whole day on but will post this chart... this is what happened ito wealth in the US over the last 30 years... imo contributing to polarisation of the nation. One of a whole range of issues that polarise the US.

The only people who would turn the US into a banana republic would be people in the US. China will become a bigger economy than us - as they should having 4 times our population - we will still be a big player. We could even become richer due to the increased consumption China and India Industrializing. They will need a ton of food and resources. The way we are going these nations will be dealing more favorably with everyone else and mostly ignoring the US.
China prevails only if it out innovates. Currently it only steals and copies. If the West falls China will not have anyone to copy from. The result will be stagnation and decline.
nope, maybe true in 90s or early 2000s, now, they either do R&D, or purchase tech directly if they can. its the same route japan, Skorea taking. that is absorb as much talent as possible. many engineer from japan/Skorea/US are working in China now. also look at its patent filling, its 2nd to US now. its never about the country, its about how much resource, R&D and how they can attract talents.
Why does someone always have to win on the international stage? If that’s the attitude then in the end, we all lose because we still haven’t gotten the point which is to work together and make ir better for everyone. Perhaps if China were more culturally diverse they would quit treating their people like chattel and thrive even more.
