"Additionally, the Cabinet includes the White House Chief of Staff and heads of the Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Management and Budget, United States Trade Representative, Central Intelligence Agency, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and Small Business Administration."
Mulvaney is acting C of S. Not a permanent appointment.

Those are cabinet level positions but not the cabinet. CoS requires no senate confirmation. Mick is considering “acting” because he also keeping him in the cabinet at OMB

If Israel or the US found a cure for cancer tomorrow, only people of means or the top 1% would be able to afford it. So, don't hold your breath. 'If wishes were fishes, the seas would be full".

he means he is going to invest in that, kinda like the dream of going to the moon

I think much cancer is caused by too much sugar in our diets, so i think we should also invest in educating the public on the over consumption of sugar and HFCS

What specifically was bad with the TPP?
    Weren't negotiations still taking place?
Isn't TPP continuing, just without the USA. In other words, we will be left out of any trade deal.

I heard he is also going to fight off the Mercurians by invading Mercury and taking out the sun with the Trident of Summer! Once he has a foothold on Mercury; he will personally cast the trident into the Sun shutting it down and thereby freezing Mercury and destroying all Mercurians in the process. He will do that right after curing cancer.

I'm fine with allowing Mexico to use their military as a wall. Hopefully that works

About the only thing a president can do regarding drugs and cancer treatment is to urge streamlining approvals. It is up to congress to allocate money and do the rest.
Most of the CDC, FDA and even FTC is actually controlled by lobbyists so even trying to speed up any approval process would require a huge bipartisan effort. That won't happen as long as dems continue to obstruct and do everything they can to tear down this and future presidencies. Someday, a moderate dem with a little common sense might become president. If and when that happens, congress won't forget the crap dems have done. I should say NOT done.

It was a pretty dumb thing to say especially to Iowa farmers. They don't want socialism and don't need welfare.

LOL IKR? He's already been reduced to muttering almost incoherently when reading prepared words off a paper and his campaign just started! When he changes to speaking off the cuff, he stammers and wanders off topic like someone in the early stages of dementia.

I'll wager he doesn't make it to the finish line and has to drop due to health problems. And if he does, God help us. Better have a very competent skilled staff who can prop him up like in the movie, "Weekend at Bernies" for the next 4-8 years.

Studies have shown that some types of cancers are directly related to poor diets including sugars, foods that contain even trace amounts of carcinogens, certain environmental factors, genetics and a host of other factors. Cancers are elusive. Often a person can have cancer along with heart, liver and other vital organ problems that complicate any treatment.

I don't know how effective education is. I honestly think fat shaming, a fat and other less PC tactics would
Joe is a risk even for democrats. His running mate would need to be stronger than himself politically. I don't see him picking any of the 20 or so losers that are running against him. Trump will run circles around him once campaigning picks up. He has no chance of keeping up Trump's pace. Missing battleground states is enough to lose a close election. I think dems are in much worse shape than they realize. I would not trust any of the recent polls that have almost every dem running beating Trump. Not even most dems are foolish enough to believe them.

Disregard the second paragraph in my previous reply to you. My power went off for just long enough to down my computer. It somehow posted what I was writing/composing.

Here is the reply I was planning to post.

I honestly think fat shaming, a fat tax on junk foods while not less PC would get the message across more directly. About 41 million households are poverty level and receive food stamps. They are not only poor, they are ignorant, uneducated and include the mentally ill. They don't respond well to education. They would respond to restrictions on what can be bought with food stamps and other more direct methods that they can understand.

skinny people can over eat sugar too, I never said anything about fat shamming

in fact, you can be fat and not eat much sugar, just eat excessive nuts and you will consume more calories then you burn, it's the high sugar that is the issue

yes, we all have cancer at one time or another, but the body normally destroys it before it's an issue, cancer loves sugar, it's like miracle grow to them

whoops, already replied, then came to this one

yes, I agree, a tax on sugar\HFCS products would help

I do not think it shoudl be excessive like the cigarette tax was, but just enough to get the message out there - can use some of the tax monies to make ads too - you know, people that lost toes, feet, ect from diabetes, put warning labels on all the products containing excess sugar

to add to that, just cause one is overweight doesn't mean they are unhealthy, sometimes the skinny people may be the unhealthy ones that have their fat all around the organs from all the fructose

if people would fast a couple times a year that have some extra fat stored up (if your skin and bones, not safe imo), it would help too I think, as many benefits from fasting too, we store fat for times food is scarce, just in today's world that is rare (in ancient times this was more of a survival benefit then in today's world)

Good points. Diets that are higher in saturated fat, red meat and sugar or fructose are thought be fuel for cancer cells. And, adding more lean meats, fruits and vegetables and whole grains are thought to enhance the immune system.

    • Stop eating meat. This removes substances from the body that have been shown to grow cancer cells.
    • Stop drinking cow’s milk. This also will remove substances that grow cancer cells.
    • Reduce consumption of growth stimulants found in many meats and dairy products, such as IGF-1
    • Stop consuming vegetable oils, including corn, safflower, and olive, which may encourage the growth of tumors.
    • Increase your intake of plant sterols
Might seem drastic but it is something anyone can do without much effort if they want to.

nope, just sugar, red meat and saturated fat is not a fuel for cancer.... well some of the protein in meat could be converted to glucose, but nothing like sugar

agree, factory farming is bad, with all the bad stuff like anti-antibiotics they pump them up with

heavily processed seed oils and trans fats are the bad oils (corn oils, ect....)

if one has cancer I would stick to low carb vegetables, no fruit, no grains and definitely add meat, eggs, fish

I woudl agree not to drink a lot of milk, if anything go for real cheese in smaller amounts

I woudl also agree on fructose, that is as bad as alchol, but people eat more as they don't get the high, that is a big cause of non-alcoholic fatty liver

I think excess sugar or fructose is where we agree the most, that is the main thing to change in the diet if you have cancer, if nothing else reduce that

these are the two fuels of cancer

Fructose and probably refined sugar in excess from my understanding. I'm not a health expert by any means and don't always practice what I say.

I add the following common foods that can be or are carcinogens (from credible information sources) :
    • Processed meats: Bacon, sausages, hot dogs, pepperoni, beef jerky and salami
    • Alcoholic beverages: Regular consumption of alcohol can lead to cancers of the mouth, liver, colon, breast and rectum
    • Microwave popcorn: Contains perfluorooctanoic acid, which is listed by EPA as a carcinogen
    • Farm raised salmon: Farmed fish such as salmon can be hazardous because they are often fed a diet of carcinogens, pesticides and antibiotics
    • Potato chips: Full of trans fat and cholesterol, and also lead to weight gain. They also contain artificial flavorings and preservatives.
    • Canned tomatoes: Canned foods are usually high in preservatives. Tomatoes are especially problematic because preserving them requires high levels of bisphenol-A or BPA, which has been linked to many health problems.
    • Breakfast cereals: Thought to have high acrylamide content, which develops when they are baked to a high temperature
    • Refined carbohydrates such as white bread, white pasta, cookies, crackers and cakes.
    • Carbonated soda: Caramel coloring is thought to cause some forms of cancer in animals. Diet soda usually contains aspartame, which may cause cancer.
    • Refined sugar: Foods high in refined sugar can promote the growth of cancer cells. Most cookies, sodas, cakes pies and even breakfast cereals are full of refined sugar.
    • Red meat: Beef, veal, pork, lamb, mutton
    • Burned or heavily barbecued foods
    • Hot beverages that are above 149 F (65 Celsius)
