Nazi's being left wing despised monarchs and or an aristocratic society and tried to erase Germany's prior history of kingdoms and aristocrats.

FYI:
These war memorials and statues of Robert E Lee and other American war heros were already war heroes before the American Civil War.
Most were war heroes during the Mexican American War and other wars that America fought before 1861.

Still untouched, still standing and not vandalised by the American taliban is the memorial honoring another American war hero who changed sides during the American Revolution War and became Americas's first traitor.

The OP is bored, no doubt. Even in his own state, monuments/ statues get vandalize [ie. Junipero Serra]. How come you don't complain when images of Californio padres [not the ball club] who established the state are desecrated? Do you hate Latinos/ Catholics also?

I'm completely against vandalism of these monuments.... If you want them removed from your neighborhood, get your local council-people to support having them removed...

Most of these monuments should only exist in military/battlefield parks...

But FYI: The Mexican American war is NOT why most of these monuments were put up... you cannot blow that smoke up anybody's butt....

 

But when you start studying the history of the American Civil War aka The Great Rebellion, you have to start with the Mexican-American War and Manifest Destiny.

They should throw the book at anyone caught vandalizing any statues. In some cases they are causing irreparable damage. If you want them removed, go about it legally. Everyone should be upset at the idea of lone individuals carrying out this vigilante vandalism ---- because remember, it could be a statue you care about next.

 

It's hard to understand why people attempt to justify or defend the destruction of property. Those statues were there for decades and suddenly people are upset with them.

Wanna stop seeing people being upset? Stop teaching about slavery, eliminate from our history. Can't cry over something you never heard of, right?

What is happening in the OP is cultural genocide. Whether to maintain historical monuments is up to the people in that locale, not mobs of violent thugs.
