    1. Everything Minus SS and Medicare is eliminated.

    2. Everyone is put on a fully inclusive medicare plan with Dental Eye care covered as well Medicare for all just like Canada has.

    3. Everyone gets $1000 per month starting when they turn 18. Adding $6.25 per hour to everyone's pay check.

For Just a price tag of just $2.7B (UBI) all other forms of welfare are removed. SS is subsidized and the lower incomes are subsidized without having to force employers to pay more out of pocket.

The Medicare for all at current drug prices is 3.5T per year however with the government able to negotiate prices that would be atleast half that much likely about $1T- $1.75T

No medical bills. A federal Guarantee of at-least $13.75/H rate ($7.5 Employer $6.25 UBI)

Right, but minimum wage in most of the country is not enough to live on. >_>

if the minimum wage was $15 you would be close to being right for 90% of the country.

A person with 2 kids in most cases gets 2x that. Daycare for the two kids will cost a min of 600 a month, so you are saying give that person 400 and tell her good luck. Now I like Yang's idea that give that mother a block grant of the 1000 and the choice to receive that 1$1000 or stay on welfare. I think 1/2 the people on the dole would then go out and get a $8-10 an hour job as that $1000 would get them to a living wage. This will save money in administration and distribution and $1000 in welfare and food stamps and eventually some recipients will get enough skills to make 20 and hour and even forgo the $1000.

Please tell me how cleaning toilets or taking fast food orders is worth $15 dollars an hour.

Well, it's an idea anyway. It needs a ton of detail and a mountain of reflection by folks without an axe to grind.

I would not clean toilets for $15 either. And you would not get me working with the public for $15 either. and what is your problem them making 15 an hour. Are you going to lose your job? Do you have to go to that restaurant?

A $6.00 happy meal includes $1.25 in labor. The managers at Mcds are 30% of the labor costs so those salaries are not affected. so that meal would now cost 75 cents more with tax for the person to make closer to a wage that they won't get food stamps. I eat out 2 times a week, I will gladly pay a dollar more. Up here in Mass most fast food places pay closer to $12 an hour anyways, inside of boston proper it is 15 now so thier price won't even go up.

As you know, the minimum wage was never designed to be a number one could live in, it was a starting wage and as you proved your value to your employer your pay would increase. Your profile says you are 22 years old. Time to put your keyboard time to better use and look for a job that will pay a wage you can live on.

It’s not supposed to be enough to live on. If you are trying to make a career out of $8 an hr, you’ve failed at life, and intentionally done so. I’m not paying for that.

So your idea is that everyone gets VA quality health care, free money, and then what?

Doctors get massive wage cuts. So do nurses and everyone else on the medical industry.

Now, when we start to look at reality, we will know that medical costs will rise dramatically, and quality will go down. Like what happens with everything the govt is in charge of. Remember that $1 billion dollar obamacare website that took 4 years to make and still didnt work?

Minimum wage isn’t a living wage. It’s the minimum. It’s designed for people living at home like teenagers or college students. Or with a few other people pooling resources. It’s a start, not a career.

The day someone thought minimum wage was supposed to cover a family was the day someone screwed up their life and the day they believed the snake oil Democrats were selling them.

We do not have a sufficient number of decent paying jobs in most of our country. We have our government subsidizing our farmers to the tune of $29 Billion just from the damage our presidents tariffs have done to them, welfare for farmers. Our oil drillers are subsidized, despite the fact that they make billions in profits, our dairy farmers are subsidized. So it is not just our poor who are on the taxpayers welfare rolls.

Please ask your doctor how much time he personally does paperwork. The study I seen was that for every hour spent with a patient. This is done due to every insurance company having a diff requirement for every procedure. A single payer system eliminates that. the doctors will be able to see 3 or 4 more patients every day. making up for the loss due to a lower reimbursement. They will no longer have to have multiple billing coders in thier office either. And please why do nurses get cut.

I don't know why you copied me in your comment but I will respond with this,

    1. It could all be eliminated and it has no effect on the Federal budget. Medicare and SS are the big, fat budget items that are piling on the deficit and debt.

    2. This is like Medicaid for all. Something I wish we all had, because it pays for almost everything, but could the medical industry work on the Medicaid level compensation?

    3. I like that idea, of $1000 a month, which is why Yang is my favorite Democratic Presidential Primary pick.

BTW, as a person with a past medical history, I'm unsure that I want ALL of the welfare programs to be shut down. Just in case I get it real bad health-wise, when I get old, and need those programs to survive.

A single payer system eliminates quality healthcare.
