    Dirty Donald is using the taxpayer funded Fourth of July military parade, he is throwing, as POLITICAL CAMPAIGN by printing and sending INVITATIONS to his right wing campaign contributors.A clear and obvious illegal use of a taxpayer funded event.

    The annual public festivities and fireworks display on the National Mall scheduled for the Fourth are being overtaken by Trump's "Salute to America" event, which is shaping up to feature a prominent role for the military.

    "This looks like it’s becoming much more of a Republican Party event — a political event about the president — than a national celebration of the Fourth of July, and it’s unfortunate to have the military smack dab in the middle of that,” said retired Army Lt. Gen. David Barno, who commanded U.S. troops in Afghanistan under President George W. Bush.

    “The president is using the armed forces in a political ploy for his reelection campaign and I think it’s absolutely obscene,” added retired Army Maj. Gen. William Nash, a veteran of Vietnam, the Gulf War and peacekeeping operations in the Balkans.

    The regular fireworks launch point had to be moved to accommodate Trump's new "Salute to America" event at the Lincoln Memorial. That, coupled with military flyovers, means DC airspace will be closed for more than two hours, when in normal years it isn't closed at all.

    Trump is turning the Fourth into a political rally. Of course, his followers will be delighted. Much like Trump himself, nothing is sacred any more.

    Just the way they want it.

    Trump has no military experience. He is a draft dodger. An athlete in high school and college, when his country came calling he discovered he had a foot problem.

    just like billy goat clinton's 4th of july 2000 celebration in ny harbor... it was the worlds largest fleet of naval warships ever assembled in modern times...

    it was an awesome sight seeing them all, i thoroughly enjoyed it, didn't matter it was a blue administration, i loved it! as did all my repub friends/family, we all accepted it for what it was, a celebration of america without any partisan bs...

    When was the last time we ever saw a real 4th of July where our military was really highlighted? I'm older than most on here and I have never seen one. I see some in Europe, Asia. Middle and the Far East on occasions, never saw one here where they ever show most of our best weapons. Kids love it when they have parades and show off fire engines, how do you think people will react seeing one of our tanks, missile launchers, transports? Much of what we see on the 4th is fireworks and jets flying over head. This should be a 4th of July people will remember for the rest of their lives. Glad to see Trump do it, we may never see one like it again.

    If you want to see a military parade go to a military base!!They can drive tanks on the grass there without destroying our already decaying roads and highways.

    1; Trump is illegally using a tax paid, public event as a political rally. He ordered that no invitations be sent to his political opponents, as if he gets to decide who is allowed to attend a public event (He really does think that he's a ****ing king)

    2; Trump is using the military parade as an excuse to push forward the parade that both congress and the military condemned as something a despot would do. He is gonna turn this fourth of july event into something that's all about him.

    3; He has already state that he won't allow the DoT to fund repairs for any roads and other infrastructure damaged by the parade. He intends to force the local DC government to pay for all repairs.
