I understand this video is 22 minutes long. And the guy thats narrating it actually was one of these people that probably would have ended up in the antifa put the amount of self-awareness the guy has is commendable. I think he's still relatively liberal, but he doesn't approach the topic like the far left does here on this forum.

Are you suggesting sources like CNN are quiet about this attack, and did not invite the victim to speak about the incident on their network? because if you are, you are absolutely wrong, this incident is pretty well known in the mainstream media, it's even gotten international attention

That detail about the assault originated on twitter, and has been proven false. Now that being said, there are people out there using this misinformation as justification for discrediting the entire incident. These people are wrong, even if the reporting on the milkshakes are inaccurate, this man was undoubtedly assaulted

 

Okay, so multiple things about this

1. The milkshake thing was a twitter hoax, but the brain injuries this man received are not a hoax. I'm not sure which source you are accusing of exaggeration his brain injuries, the video in the OP certainly did not include any information to exaggerate his brain injuries. The milkshake thing is false, but that doesn't invalidate the reports on the assault that are true.

2. He was literally on location to report on an antifa counter protest, and was assaulted. I'm not going to say it is outside of the realm of possibility that it was another group who assaulted him, however his belief that it was antifa are certainly not unsound. He was attacked while reporting on an antifa rally, this is without question what happened. Make whatever conclusion you choose on who the attackers were, the man was assaulted while reporting on an antifa rally, so it certainly isn't unreasonable to conclude the attackers were most likely antifa

3. No one has been arrested or named as a person of intensest because the people who were attacking him were wearing masks. That is why people wear masks, so they cannot be identified. Once again, it is on NOT unreasonable to believe these individuals were antifa, because that is one of the many things antifa is known for. They often wear masks at their rallies so they cannot be identified, and the location that this assault took place was indeed an antifa counter protest. Again, make whatever conclusion you choose on who the assaulters were, these are the facts

 

One of the most dismaying things about the course of American politics in the last few years has been the decline of authentic liberalism, which used to have a (correct) very hard line on Free Speech.

It's especially sad to watch intelligent people twisting and turning and using sophistry to minimize and justify fascist tactics when they're carried out by people they consider on their side. They're probably not even aware that the people who make up Anti-Fa despise liberals as well.

Not all liberals by any means have become apologists for this stuff, but it's definitely the trend on the Left now.

In the last few decades the American Right has become much more appreciative of the importance of Free Speech. Let's hope current developments dont' arrest and reverse this trend.

Conservatives should watch closely all the liberal apologies for anti-Fa violence, because, at some point, there will be a symmetric development: a peaceful protest by Leftists will be violently attacked by the Right, or people seen by the Left to be on the Right.

Then the conservative Temptation will be to use all the rationalization, diversions, mis-direction, minimalizing, witty one-liners, etc that we see the Left using to apologize for fascism here, to give effective support to the attack on the Leftists.

You're right that all violence should be condemned but you are wrong if you think the majority of terrorism in the US is a market cornered by the right wing. Apparently history is different on your planet. FYI, nearly 40% of the democrats voted against the civil rights act while 78% of the republicans voted FOR the civil rights act.
