    I love it. I absolutely love it. The fireworks are nothing compared to your reaction. There is no doubt that this is a campaign stunt and that your frustration with being completely unable to do anything about that fact is the most entertaining part of it. We have thoroughly enjoyed your reactions to everything Trump. From election night to now, you, and those like you, have made politics entertaining again.     Every bit of power that is handed to the President stays with the office - not the man. Give Trump the power to turn federally funded public events into party rallies and you are giving the next Democrat in office the same power.

    So what Republicans are telling me in this thread is they want President Warren with the power to have federally funded gay pride rallies on the Capital Mall on July 4th.

    Many of us tried to warn Republicans that when they handed Bush extra Executive powers after 9/11, that those powers would stay with the office. Those same Republicans were screaming when Obama used those powers. Now those some Republicans are handing Trump extra powers, not pausing for one second to understand those powers STAY with the office after Trump leaves.

    So I'm warning you again. Don't be in such a ****ing hurry to hand the Executive branch extraordinary powers.

    The whole thing is more disturbing even than Dear Leader abusing the 4th of July as a campaign event.

    Trump’s hijacking of the Fourth of July just got a lot uglier

    This is what we will be seeing in one form or another on the Fourth of July, no matter what Trump says in his planned Independence Day speech from the Lincoln Memorial. The very act of taking over the proceedings in the manner he has cooked up itself accomplishes this feat.
