I see a picture of an old man with a cut face in handcuffs

But just as I suspected he was roughed up by opposition demonstrators and while he was resisting arrest

Unlike yourself Mac, I am not afflicted with cognitive dissonance as to the criminality and violence practiced by the US government. That is, I don't need to kid myself anymore regarding the lawlessness of the federal government.

So, I don't need anymore videos. And I know that all the videos in the world showing drone killing and torture will not change your mind regarding the sanctity of your government.

You will never understand the lawlessness in Washington DC because you do not want to understand those unpleasant truths.

So your position is that I should just take your word for it?

I saw the clip by someone who was there

He said potester groups were fighting each other and that the man resisted arrest

No, my position is that I don't give a GGD what you do or what you think.

My position is that I've known since about 1970, doing my time in Southeast Asia with a uniform on, that the US government is criminal.

My position is that you and many others will never understand that, and I know that it is easier to fool a man than it is to explain to him how he has been fooled.

What did you think was fake about the story ?

I don't buy that what you did in 1970 has anything to do with what is occurring at this embassy. It comes across like there is much more to this story than your one-sided view of things. We should just take your word for it is not a very persuasive argument.

Then why don't you puh-leeze inform me as to what happened?

Your failure to straighten out the record as to exactly what happened is very persuasively indicating you haven't a clue as to what happened, and you refuse to believe the story and video linked.

By what law was the US entitled to place the Venezuelan Embassy under siege? By what law did US authorities act to assault peaceful protestors?

Why do you defend lawlessness by your government?

If it was under siege then we'd go in and throw the code-pinkers out or arrest them. Instead they just cut the power, a peaceful way to say - you don't have the legal right to be there. What a disaster that vile socialist despot has made of Venezuala and we, along with many other countries, no longer recognize him as the rightful leader.

What really separates you and me is that you favor pissing on the rule of law, whereas I don't.

I do recognize that perhaps the most lawless government on the planet resides in Washington DC, and this event demonstrates that lawlessness.

That kind of truthful statement is what scares hell out of you. Facing that unpleasant and inconvenient truth is for only brave people. Cowards convince themselves to pretend the government is for the people.

Can you name a law I'm pissing on? Much of the world recognizes Guaido as the acting President. Maduro is a horrible despot who has destroyed Venezuela. Some would say you are supporting the lawless as you support the code-pinkers who could be considered illegally occupying the embassy.

Yes, you are pissing on the law that declares embassies to be effectively the territory of the country whose embassy it is. If you are not aware of that law, you are ignorant of the ways of the world.

The US has installed puppet governments around the world for decades, but that does not make it legal. The current effort to install another in the person of Guaido has so far failed, but the bad guys in Washington are still at work, as the event described in the thread title show.

Ours is a lawless government, and for whatever reason, you seem unaware of it. Likely you're just unable to face the bloody truth, as so many Americans are.

The US hasn't installed anyone. That was the Venezualan National Assembly. All we have done is recognize their authority according to the Venezuelan Constitution. Many other countries have also acted accordingly. Therefore under our laws the code-pinkers are in violation of our laws and you are supporting their law-breaking activities.

    Horse manure Senor Glitch.

The VNA did not 'install' Guaido. He is still the outsider.

With strong US backing, he attempted to usurp power for himself and his CIA handlers. He failed.

    Viva Maduro!

Propped up by the likes of Cuba, Russia and Iran. A horrible human being who has destroyed a nation. He has confiscated private properties for his own gains, thus driving businesses and wealth out of the country.

"The long list of Maduro’s crimes includes the illegal mining and trafficking of minerals, transnational drug trafficking, and theft of substantial sums of money from the Venezuelan government and hiding it in offshore bank accounts worldwide. Maduro violates the human rights of those who oppose him, including the illegal detainment, torture, and murder of political opponents." -Rubio

What a horrible excuse for a human being.

LOL, I'm not surprised to see you are a fan of Marco. You don't know the difference between right and wrong, legal and illegal, but that is why we have the government we deserve.

The facts exist no matter what I think or what you think.

The facts are that the US government is amongst the most lawless on this planet.
