Not to be a prick, but there is plenty of welfare for the rich. We just call it 'tax breaks' instead.

Tax breaks are not welfare for the rich. Welfare is when you take from OTHER PEOPLE. Tax breaks are when you let people keep THEIR OWN MONEY. Why you leftists can't understand that simple principle astounds me. Here it is in a 1st grade format...

A takes from B and gives it to C = welfare
A doesn't take from B and lets B keep his money = tax break

Please note that in neither case does the money ever belong to A. Never. Ever.

Tax breaks are taxes that others have to pay to make up the difference. Ergo, tax breaks are welfare for the people who get them. Those people are the rich. ergo, tax breaks are welfare for the rich. To cite your example, both B and C have more money at the expense of the gov't. this amounts to welfare. How do you fail to grasp this simple principle?

Not taking one persons money means you have to steal more from the next victim. Ergo, not stealing from certain people is like welfare from thugs.

You claim those who pay taxes are “making up the difference”, as if there is some magical number that the government is trying to get to cover all of their spending. You are delusional if you think the government will ever collect more than what it spends without first cutting its current spending. The government only promises to cut future spending, which it never keeps. And you can never guarantee how much you will collect.

False, false, and false. A) Other people do not have to make up the difference. Since there isn't any standard amount that the government has to spend, no one has to make up the difference between how much the government took in last year and how much it takes in this year. B) Welfare is when you give people money. Since a tax break does not give anyone money but just takes less, it's not welfare. I use this example a lot, but leftists still fail to understand it, but here goes again. If I mugged you yesterday for $20 and I mug you today but only take $10, did I give you anything? No, I still took money from you, just less than I did yesterday. This is the way tax breaks work. C) IT'S NOT THE GOVERNMENT'S MONEY. It's the taxpayers' money, not the government's. The government does not earn a dime, it takes everything it has from those who earned it.

Now a meme to stick with the subject of the thread.

It remains welfare for the rich.

someone has to make up the difference. If it's not the people who are actually paying tax, then who could it be?

Still, someone has to make up the difference between what the gov't could have made and what it actually made. That would be the people who didn't get the subsidy that the corporations did.

Welfare is when you subsidize people or companies. You can do this with tax breaks for companies or EIC for people, or direct payments but it all amounts to more money in someone's pocket at the expense of the rest of us.

    Here we agree.

No, they don't. What could happen is the government could actually reduce spending.

Tax breaks do not subsidize anyone. For the last time, when you let people keep their own money, you are not giving them anything. The money is theirs to begin with, they earned it, it belongs to them. It does not belong to the government, so the government isn't giving them anything. And since the government is still TAKING from them at an enormous rate even after cutting their taxes, the notion that they are getting a SUBSIDY is ludicrous.

How do you fail to see that failure to tax an entity is the same as subsidizing them? It is the same in outcome as taxing them and giving the money back.

Because the government isn't giving them any money!!! It's their money, not the government's!!! Not taking from people is not the same as giving them something! If I don't take your house from you, have I given you a house? If I don't take your car from you, have I subsidized your car? If I don't take your wife from you, have I granted you a wife? IT'S ****ING LUDICROUS!!!

You, as a private person, have no right to my house, my car, or my wife. The gov't, on the other hand, does have a right to taxes. Failure to claim those taxes amounts to a subsidy. When Exxon corporation makes billions each year and pays little or nothing in taxes, they are being subsidized by the gov't at the expense of the other taxpayers.

Not taking the gov't's rightful due amounts to a subsidy.

No, it ****ing doesn't. The government has no right to anything. It has the power to tax, because we the people, who have rights, have granted it the power to tax, but it has no right to do so. The government is not an entity or an individual with rights.

Here's a funny one. AOC and others are chasing rainbows. You can see it. You can feel it when talking with other scientists and engineers.

AOC referenced the UN report saying we have 12 years before the effects of climate change are irreversible. So she wants to implement radical change in hopes of saving the human race from a terrible future. But she's crazy!!! It's already too late. There is no way we will turn this thing around now. Screw the kids and grand kids! That's their problem. We are all along for the ride now. LOL!!! We're screwed.

    WHAT? No likes?

Hey! Come on now. Famine, drought, floods, failed water supplies for major cities, population displacements that make today's immigration problem seem trivial, stronger hurricanes and tornadoes, disease, infestations, death and destruction... this is FUNNY STUFF!!!

Here you are mistaken. the Constitution spells out the things the gov't doesn't have the right to do. All else, it has the right to do. Taxation is one of those rights.

You should read it again. The Constitution specifically spells out only the things the government has the power to do and reserves everything else to the people and the states. It didn't even grant the government the power to impose an income tax, which is why we have the 16th Amendment. Ours is a government of limited powers, not unlimited ones.

    No she's not.

She's advocating for institutional racism and keeping minorities in poverty.

Read it again. And all the amendments. Obviously, you missed the idea that a gov't hs the ability to tax.

Obviously you have also failed to grasp that the failure to grasp the plin logical point that failure to impose a tax amounts to a subsidy.

QED, fools think defending the wealthy will make them wealthy as well. Stupidity begets more of the same.
