    SRP- States Rights Party

    Party Goals
    - Repeal the federal criminal code that applies to citizens.
    - Repeal the federal prohibitions against states that are not specifically outlined in the constitution.
    - Appoint Judges that are pro states rights and that will rule in favor of the states on all issues not expressly prohibited by the constitution (meaning unless the words are written in the constitution saying no state shall it stands)
    - Pass a states citizen constitutional amendment making everyone pre 14th amendment citizens with the 14th amendment protections.

Just remember that the last time State's rights were placed above Federal protections, we had a very bloody and devicive Civil War.

    Legalize the right of secession.

That should be the defining issue.

We only had a civil war because States didn't have the right to secede.

That was the issue of slavery, nothing is that divisive today

Gun rights and abortion are just as divisive. And they will never be resolved.

A country this big can't live under one set of laws. That notion has failed miserably.

Gun rights? Abortion? Immigration? You are wrong to think that there are not issues that could cause civil war if left only to the State to decide.

If it went to one of their justices it would be considered legal, also if we got 2/3 in congress we would impeach the whole supreme court and place 9 state rights judges bringing the nation back to what is was supposed to be

Divisive yes, going to war nope, people would just move to another state, plus no one is going to want to give the federal government an excuse to use the army. It was war because it was a moral issue in the north and economic in the south

That will never happen. Just give it up. The US doesn't work. And I want no part of red state politics. As of today, I consider my State a hostage of a hostile government.

I want no part of a country that would elect someone like trump. He is profoundly dangerous. His election was the death rattle of a once great nation and the birth of something very dark and evil.

The states need to be pseudo independent because splitting up could end in war. Just end up independent nations in an alliance, A federal bill would be passed that if each state passed a law wishing to leave then it splits up.

BTW I am on the left as well

No state has the right to exist, let alone secede, if its existence violates the rights of man.

One of the contradictions in the creation of America was its compromise with slavery, one that inevitably had to explode. A nation built upon the principles of liberty had no business accepting slavery, and ought to have followed Jefferson's pledge, " I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man." It didn't and America has been harmed and haunted by that compromise ever since.

So red states will begin to starve overnight, that’s an interesting proposal

I like the idea of a state's rights party. Do you think there is a chance to put together a slate of candidates before the next election?

My red state doesn’t. Redistribution among states is as wrong as among individuals in my opinion. Make states fix their own ***t.

Since red states produce the vast majority of food we eat they wouldn’t starve. The welfare recipients might lose 100 lbs and then go to work. States would contract with more efficient road and infrastructure construction companies out of necessity. Schools and other services would become more efficient. Everyone would be better off in the long run. Let’s do it. No more redistribution. I like it.

If you know someone who is a super rich who would be on board and who is not pro corporate then I think it could get ground with non voters.

The vast majority of our nation occupies 15% of our country. That over crowed, over priced sliver that rarely extends more than 100km from a coast, a great lake or the gulf is utterly dominated by the democrat party. The rest of the country is ours. We go about our business. There's no real need to formalize our disregard for the federal government. Those on the left edges know full well that we disregard them at every turn, and we are well amused by their ire. Why ruin the fun?

Your states are practically funded by the federal government and would collaps without aid. So I see why you want to remain socially detached but remain financially formally attached.

We can go much longer without your money than you can go without our food. Good luck with that. I'm sure that all you people are going to come together in those big cities just fine. It should be all hugs and kisses until those community gardens kick in.

We can get food from South America California and great lakes states and meat from Canada and Europe.

Money is more important in this world so when you're broke and lose your farms life will be dire

I'm in business. I only ever do business with people I disagree with. My customers think that our products and services are worth more than the money. We, obviously, disagree, so, we trade the money for the products/services. I think that I can do business with you. You all stay in your over crowed slivers along the coasts and we'll take the rest. Oh, yeah, one more thing, we're keeping the electoral college.
