I wish the parties would try to pass things they know would fail, better then doing nothing like both parties are doing now

That’s essentially what we have on this thread.

A bunch of Trumpsters yelling to make sure Puerto Rico gets no money, after starving it ever since the hurricane, and then blaming the victims.

This story details the arrest of two man, one of whom has pleaded not guilty.

It doesn’t say what they allegedly did at all. Nor does it point out the pattern of corruption that all the angry old white voices on this thread seem to have conjured up.

Yes. Puerto Rico is a game of checkers for the U.S. as is all of Latin America where the leaders are puppets of Washington. Puerto Rico is probably the closest thing to Cuba during Batista's American-controlled regime and so corruption is a way of life.

They are also used to bribes to get anything done which puts US companies in a bind often because that is illegal.

Well I would agree with you there. Passing things that are destined to fail isn't of course as important as passing things that have a chance to be made into law, but it's important to have a record and an agenda.

Oh, they definitely threatened at times that they’ll move as fast as they want, which is waaaaaaaay too fracking slow. None of those people would be employed in any production capacity in the states.

prob underpaid, get what you pay for, and when a society is under paid, they no longer seem as enthusiastic, I notice the same thing when I get glasses anymore, not the same care I got when younger where it seemed people really cared

Puerto Ricans have paid a blood tax by fighting in USA wars going way back to the Revolutionary War when they volunteered to fight for Commander de Galves in the Florida and Southern campaign. By contrast, wealthy elites and some corporations do not pay taxes.
