1: The media has reached a new level of bias and fake news stories and have been caught at this multiple times. They no longer have the trust of the American people and rightly so.
2:You wonder and you suspect. LOL
3: A claim was made that Trump is a liar and once again a liberal thinks they can make an accusation and then it's up to the accused or the supporters to prove the accusation is false and the accused is innocent. Kind of like what you attempted to do with Roberts. Sorry but as of now you have to prove guilt not innocence although that could well change if the left gained enough power and started rounding people up for reeducation camps. "You have been accused of crimes against the state".

If you believe that, then I suggest you look back at the turn of the last century, and the era of "Yellow Journalism". The debates between President McKinley and the likes of Pulitzer and Hearst are legendary. He was trying hard to keep the US out of a war with Spain, but it was the reporting from the Hearst and Pulitzer newspapers that essentially drug the US into the war.

And because at that time the only news media was print, there was no way for the President to ever get out an dissenting opinion. And even though the President was pushing hard for a diplomatic solution to the problems in Cuba, the Yellow Press was beating the drums for war, effectively boxing in the President to where anything short of a declaration of war would render his administration impotent.

Then you later have President Nixon, and the War on the Media. And the almost complete censorship during the FDR administration. Do you honestly think the President was so beloved that nobody ever reported he was a cripple out of love?

If you believe what you posted, then you have some huge gaps in your understanding of history.

I agree with your points. I never said the free press always agreed or always supported one point of view. I said no President ever made it his issue that the free press itself--in entirety--offered nothing but fake news & was untrustworthy, the way Trump has done. The U.S. Constitution, & all the founding fathers & every President in history have respected the free press & given their support for it. Trump marks a hideous departure from that.

I even gave you other examples of Presidents that did the same thing, not even mentioning the war that Lincoln had himself with the press and "fake news" during his term in office. Yet you ignore it, and once again try to pretend it never happened before, and that the President is horrible.

Information therefore flushed as being nothing but a blatant political attack, and regarded as such.

I thought I made it clear that I know Presidents have attacked the press in the past for articles they disliked. But they attacked specific media publications, like the NY Times, or the Washington Post, or more recently, a specific radio station or TV network. Trump is the first to attack the concept of a "free press." That's different. Trump actually commented that he'd like to see the U.S. have a government controlled press. That would be the opposite of a "free press" guaranteed in the Constitutional. In fact, I'm certain it would be ruled unconstitutional if it was started. These are actions taken by Trump that lend evidence that he doesn't honor his oath to "Preserve, protect & defend the Constitution of the U.S." I doubt he's ever read it. I know he knows little to nothing about it. And, he challenges the very institutions constructed to work within its directives. Trump is the one you should be "flushing."

Which is political, and not germane at all to the topic being discussed.

You're very new here so I can't tell if you're trolling or not. What if I were to tell you Iran shot down (and figured out how to operate the drone) during Obama's term and Democrats in Congress called for a possible military response?

Would you like some sources or does this ring a bell?

    Alt left radicals?

Why make it about me? THAT is a deflection, as is the "but Obama" line.

Just FYI I am not left, and not even a Democrat, I just happen to think Trump is a raving idiot.

It sounds like you opposed something in the past, and now support. Interesting.

No clue what you are talking about other than you are trying to make baseless claims about what others may or may not have said in past years + clumsy / childish attempts at trying to label people.

    So alt-leftist of you.

You can go pound sand now.

    See ya!

Of course you "have no idea". You alt lefties pretend like Trump is the first ever President and excuse the mistakes you JUST MADE last term.

It's the sign of true radicals.

You're correct. The outrage over it does however.

I am not outraged at Trump for his foreign policies. I am deeply disturbed & concerned. Trump is treating our proven friends around the world as if they were enemies, and our proven enemies since WWII, as newfound friends. I can see no rational reason for this other than Trump's personal distorted views, which draw him toward authoritarian leaders, because those are the ones he sees himself a member of. Trump never says or does anything to publicly defend or support democracy here at home or anywhere in the world where it is under attack or pressure. I offer his unquestioned support of anything Putin wants (like renewed membership in the G8); loveletters to & from Kim Jong-Un of N Korea; & his relentless support of the sinister monarchists in Saudi Arabia, who now murder political opponents with Trump's blessing. Meanwhile, Trump picks fights with Denmark, Canada, the UK, Germany, & every other nation regarded as long term friends of the U.S. since WWII. Nothing about these behaviors is natural, normal, positive, constructive, or good. How any American voter can support Trump doing these things is beyond my comprehension or understanding. What values motivate these Trump sycophants? For me personally, Trump acts in direct opposition to every value I've ever attached to being American, from democracy, to basic human rights. I am mystified by what motivates anyone to support him.

    Really?

How many Conservatives were outraged when President Obama was talking about rounding up and deporting record numbers of illegal aliens?

    *crickets*

That was going on, and Democrats were going "Yes, see! We are hard on the topic, we want to stop it!"

Now, 4 years later they are screaming the exact opposite.

Yes, I am well aware of times that Republicans act in a knee-jerk fashion at something a Democrat does, and I have absolutely no problem calling them out on it. Some of the biggest ones in recent memory was over Somalia and former Yugoslavia. A lot of Republicans were screaming at President Clinton for those operations, completely forgetting that both of them had actually started under President Bush. I frequently called them to task on this in FIDO Net groups before the Internet became common.

However, even then the Republican outrage was more over how those wars were being conducted, not that we were there in the first place. A far cry from the almost Pavlovian reaction of most Democrats that we see. That completely ignore what may be done by their President Of Choice, then try to use it to attack the President Of Opposition.

Myself, as a moderate I mostly do as usual. Sit back and laugh at both sides when they are being foolish. But as usual, the Democrats are showing themselves to be by far the most foolish of the two.

Many of those points such as the friendliness with SA has not changed over the change in Presidency. eg SA has always been a big customer for military arms. Many countries take what Trump says with a pinch of salt knowing that he is just as likely to back track on anything he says. Foreign Policy strategy is much more long term than 4 or 8 years.

Trump's constant fights are soon forgotten other than being a constant embarrassment for the US. The NK leader laughs at him high lighted by Trump tweeting about the love letters and the "apology" he received after Kim launched some missiles yet two days later more ballistic missiles were launched yet strangely no comment from Trump.

When Trump says or does something the powers behind US Foreign Policy will analyze his actions and react to negate or promote his actions to drive their policy forward

Obviously this is all IMO, other than Trump is an embarrassment to the US which is a fact
