Hate to break it to you but its not just two generations.

Lefties have a way of presuming everyone else thinks like they do in their little enclaves.

What two generations do you believe support the wall by the highest percentages?
Have a source for that — of course you don’t — I do:

The argument that a 40% reduction isn't a reason to do anything.

    Typical leftist reasoning.

And then you have millennial's who support it.

Like I said, lefties have a way of presuming everyone else thinks like they do.

The wall will not reduce immigration by 40%, especially not a partial wall which is what is proposed. I would rather have a solution than political posturing.

I know that’s all many of you have left however.

Giving the Border Patrol simple instructions that border-jumpers should be shot on sight would be MUCH more effective.

    Wrong.

In every location we've built a border wall, such as San Diego, illegal immigrant apprehension has dropped 90%+. The walls in Israel and in Europe work.

I don't think you want a solution, otherwise you'd address and recognize the effectiveness of incremental changes.

Illegal immigration won't be stopped by one change in one day.

Even a reduction of 25% in illegal immigration from a wall would free up resources to address other areas of concern, such as visa overstays.

Mexicans always runaway from their problems.

That's why there's been no revolution in Mexico and Mexico will always remain a shithole and a basket case.

The Mexicans will continue running away from their problems instead of fixing the problem.

But where ever they run to, they bring their problems and politics with them.

A full border wall is not being considered to my knowledge. Other than that your data is irrelevant when someone can just walk around the barrier.

I can post numerous examples of Israel’s wall failing which is 440 miles and covers almost the entire border. The US southern border is almost triple that in length and passes numerous bodies of water.

If the differences are not apparent I don’t believe I have the capacity to explain said differences to you.

I don’t care what you think about my views on the subject.
We should be implementing processes that make them not want to come here in the first place and will make the ones that are already here self deport.

How many illegals will a wall prevent if they are already in the country?

The bulk of the cost of illegal immigration is not new entries but rather ones that are already here and are draining our systems.

Cut those systems off completely and a much higher percent than 25% will turn around and head home — or stop in Mexico.

    Yes.
Visa overstays need much better enforcement.

And visa non compliance like those on Student Visas but, earn no college credits.
I think the Boston Bombers fall into that group.

Finally a :flagcanada: border story / thread some take seriously.
All those years of people disregarding at my warnings.

Yeah they'll just walk a few hundred miles around it to the choke point.

If the known effectiveness of the walls we already have is something you'd like to ignore, go right ahead.

Again, your argument is 100% or nothing. Not a good argument.

I don't know if you've noticed, but leftists in government are doing everything they can to keep the illegals coming, so whatever can be done is an improvement over the status quo.

We have such a "humanitarian crisis" at the border, that House Democrats just went on vacation for a month.

That's refreshing. Someone finally admitting what and who Chump's biggest supporters are. I didn't think I'd ever see this happen.

    Not necessarily a physical wall
In low traffic areas electronics can do the job better than no job done.
With rapid deploy, catch and return of course.

Besides the :flagcanada: border involves all those inlets and not a straight line.

Ever hear of walls virtually stopping illegals where they have been built? Ever hear of the Supreme Court that just said Trump can use military funds to build more walls?

Where walls have been erected illegal border crossing plummeted. Walls work

My argument isn’t 100% or nothing, it’s effective solutions.

    A wall is neither.

E-verify would have been easily mandated and would have a larger impact on overall illegal immigration and current illegal immigrants. So would employer penalties. So would ending financial incentives to them or areas that harbor them.

What percent of current illegals do you think a wall will deter? Is that number higher than 0%?

I’m sorry y’all were sold on a 20 step process that step one is putting a bandaid on top of a bullet wound, but you have to stop the bleeding first — remove the bullet — repair the damage — then close it up.

Obvious things are done differently along America's northern border...they enforce the laws that are on the books.

Instead of allowing these illegal aliens to voluntary return across the border all seven were arrested for crimes.
Four misdemeanor arrest and three felony arrest.

A few? Here, let me math for you:
    100%
    -60%
    _____
    40%
Our next step, boys and girls, is learning a new symbol:
< and >. If the number is to the left of the pointy side then that number is the lesser amount of the two numbers you'll see. Soooooo, in this case it looks like this:
40% < 60%. OK, if the lesser number is by the pointy side then that means that 60% is the larger amount. Therefore, class, the only mathematical conclusion is this:
60% cannot be "a few." Got it?

Phew-wee. Some days this teaching new-fangled lessons is tedious.

pure bs... flying in, cruising in, both require passports, which makes them legally here, although some overstay their welcome and then become 'illegals'...

what we are fighting against at the borders, is hordes of america haters lookin to 'cash in' on democrat freebies... and most are criminals of the unimaginable kind, thats why they 'sneak' in... one can't sneak in by aircraft without having some very expensive forged documents, which pale in comparison to the hordes at the borders...
