https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-tax-returns-gavin-newsom-bill-sign_n_5d3f215ae4b0d24cde039bfc "California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed a controversial bill Tuesday that would all but force President Donald Trump to give in to longstanding demands that he release his tax returns. “As one of the largest economies in the world and home to one in nine Americans eligible to vote, California has a special responsibility to require this information of presidential and gubernatorial candidates,” Newsom said in a statement." So voter suppression is okay now?
Not remotely voter suppression, but that was good for a laugh anyway.. thanks for that... He sues, of course, which will be interesting as well.... To quote the buffoon, we'll see what happens, but this, in and of itself, will not get Trump's taxes released... there is a fully legal method already working it's way through the court system...
Gavin Newsom is an useful idiot of the extreme radical left and the reconquista socialist with in the California state legislature. The California state legislature passed the same bill when Governor Brown was in office and Brown vetoed the bill saying it was a slippery slope, that Republicans could do the same thing requiring that someone running for political office would be required to produce their school report cards and that wouldn't be a good thing for Democratic politicians. He really said that.
I'm still wondering why the leftists are so worried about Trumps taxes. It's not like they know what they are looking at, or even know what they are looking for.
I don't want to see Trump's taxes... I want Congress to be able to see them for legitimate oversight purposes. They have a lot of people who will be able to decipher everything. Invalid argument there... BTW, if you want some legit laughs, read some of the "arguments" in Trumps lawsuit to keep them hidden from Neal and NY.... Seinfeld couldn't write comedy this good.. http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/07/trump-tax-returns-lawsuit-house-new-york.html
So there are no reasons for anyone to see his taxes. Then again, the leftists take their queues from Madcow. I remember when she had the story of the century concerning his taxes.
Im glad you think that forcing ones opinion on others is funny. Next time Trump takes out his pen and abuses his power, you should just accept that he knows better than you and is justified in taking your choice away.
This will be laughed out of the supreme court. If this is allowed, each state will come up with absolutely random, meaningless requirements to disqualify candidates. States can demand all medical records, then medical records of family members, then business records of friends and family members... there will be no end to the nonsense. The TDS mob doesn't understand this, but the supreme court does.
I'm waiting for California to require all candidates to have blue eyes and blonde hair.....or something similar, to cater to their current prejudices or politics.
Trump promised HIS voters in the Republican debates that he would show his tax returns - don't know why it should bother him to produce them now ... unless he is lying about something. Again.
Showing tax returns has been pretty standard for candidates for quite some time now, and Trump did promise his voters he would. Isn't really Earth shattering.
Doesn't the IRS have complete oversight of Trumps taxes? I'm fairly sure the IRS is equipped to also decipher everything and determine if Trump has broken the law or not, right?
Your doubt has a lot less weight after claiming this bill did not target Trump. No reasonable person would believe that.
What possible oversight is there in seeing tax returns? Either way, its not like Trump sits down and does his own taxes, he has people for that, just like everyone in the House, the Senate, and every high ranking position. This is the opening salvo against accounting firms. I guess you folks had better hope no Democrats use the same people. I can see no reason any candidate should have to show tax returns when they were private citizens, no legislature should have the ability to invade the privacy of citizens without due process. It makes even less sense for a state to demand tax returns for people who aren't even residents. This is shameful, but if it somehow gets through the courts, it will end up biting liberals in the ass, like almost all of their convoluted totalitarian ideas...
Well, I would have thought that before Nixon's were re-reviewed... Now, I don't know. My thought is the more people who know about them, the better. Certainly no reason why Congress shouldn't know what our president is up to, amiright? SNIP In April 1974, JCT produced a 1,000-page report that found almost a dozen problems with Nixon’s returns. The agency said he owed $475,431 including interest for unpaid taxes over four years. It amounted to half of Nixon’s net worth. The IRS simultaneously did its own audit of Nixon and came to a similar finding, determining he owed $432,787. ENDSNIP https://www.politico.com/story/2018/12/23/nixon-trump-tax-returns-1050587
