Nixon's southern strategy managed to make Blacks leave the Republican Party, which they supported since the Civil War. What the Republicans do matters more than what they say.

The "Southern strategy" was an attempt to take conservatives away from the Democratic Party. Conservatives are not white supremacists.

Trump is politically incorrect and color blind. That has nothing to do with white supremacy. You're not necessarily a white supremacist if you don't like quotas and affirmative action.

I'm not new to political forums, but I was new when I was moved to the Jim Crow South as a child. If you don't see the connection between the Nixon Southern Strategy and white supremacy, then you just don't want to see it, or you want to deny the obvious. It's been around all my life, just like with all Americans.

tRump is intentionally playing the bigot for now and he'll probably change after he solidifies his base. Change is easy for someone without core values and tRump is definitely not a conservative, he just uses them.

I've been a conservative Republican all of my life.

I lived in NYC, Chicago, and New England until age 23.

I've lived in Texas since age 23. I'm now 57.

I volunteered on the 1984 Reagan campaign.

I've never met (or even seen) a white supremacist.

 

15 kids only give a guy 1 black eye? Is it me, or does something sound odd about this story? Let's say you are stupid enough to wear a MAGA hat and want to go to an area to find 15 kids, hanging together, with at least one of them knowing what a MAGA hat is. Most kids old enough to dot the eye of a MAGA hat wearer only hang with all males when playing sports, so most hang with girls and not in groups of 15 kids.

But, let's say you are persistent and eventually find a group of 15 kids. Just walk up to them, show them your MAGA hat and figure out if it was the hat or just walking up to them that got your ass kicked. 1 black eye is not a ass kicking by 15 kids.

 

I am going to say that the original story, seems a bit fishy. He certainly took a hard knock, but there's nothing to corroborate it.

Blacks began going to Democrats due to the FDR free give away programs. Blacks made money off of WW2 and credited FDR for WW2.

Targeting the white vote is no more racist than dems targeting the black vote. Blacks were already voting 95% dem by then. Liberals turned that into racism like they do with everything.
