As far as the Average Joe's perception of Trump goes, I would say he is as big of a failure nationally as he is internationally - Media has done a great job in smearing him in poop causing the average citizen to view him as poop "because that is what the experts told him". Also, part of it is to blame on himself too since his way of presenting himself is not exactly what people think of when they think of a POTUS lol.

Speaking of actual policies, I would have to say Trump has done a much better job than any President the last few decades has managed to do; He has trolled Mexico in migration negotiations, he has met with North Korea and he has "bombed ISIS out of Earth". Internationally, he has done pretty much everything that he has promised. His attitude might not be suitable for diplomacy, but his negotiation skills definitely are.

Nationally, he has lowered the taxes, as he promised, and unemployment has not been this low in a long time.

Trump has done a very good job.

Trump learned how to play the media when he was promoting himself as a tabloid celebrity. Then he went into reality tv, where sleaziness is the coin of the realm, and where public humiliation and punching down are standard parts of the act.

So is BS. Indeed, tabloid celebrity and reality tv are all BS.

All BS all the time works on an arena where no one has expectations and no one has to worry about keeping their word. The expectation lasts no longer than the episode.

As for creating expectation, and keeping promises in business, Trump has a long and very well deserved reputation for not doing either, He’s a deadbeat. He does not pay his bills, never has, and never will.

BS is a marketable product when you’re trying to get on the front page of the New York Post, or keep the viewers coming back next week to watch some slob make a fool of himself.

But it isn’t good enough for President of the United States.

Fact is the media takes thoes videos, plays a small portion of it then they lie about the context and the meanings of what he says.

I agree that he is low on character. But the media is in fact lying about him and what he says in order to sway public opinion about him, aka to influence the election, just like Russia.

 

Putting aside the cost of those wages and jobs is a deficit exploding tax cut.......the kind of deficits Repubs only care about when a Dem is in the WH.......there is more to the country than that. Problems like a healthcare system in need of reform, likewise for the immigration system, the existential threat posed by climate change, the trade deficit, crumbling infrastructure, political divisiveness, a dysfunctional Senate, money corrupting DC, gun violence, an absurd amount of $ going to defense spending, the need to enhance election security, too much reliance on fossil fuels, and many more all going unaddressed while Don spends his weekends playing golf and doing what he can to ensure we stay divided as a nation. Not to mention growing institutional mistrust in everything from the courts to the IRS. That's why Putin smiles.

 

I'm afraid they are more effective than Russia.
