    Their press is still free to talk about whatever the heck they feel like talking about. Unfortunately we are about to lose such freedoms.

    Do you realise this article is from January 2017, in the aftermath of the 2016 election? It appears to be part of the mess that was the transition process for the new administration and this doesn't mean the temporary halt on communications was a good thing but it should be seen in the correct context.

    How is this different than any other employer controlling what employees post on social media?

    Of what I read in the article:

    'The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the largest scientific society in the world, said many federal agencies had policies that “prohibit political interference” in how they relay information to the public'.

    it doesn't coincide with the clickbaiting name and suppositions about censorships etc. These are the words and opinion of those who spread different data about climate in an alarmist way. Many (!) federal agencies (which is a typical expression from propaganda giving a zero actual information of what exactly happened but blaming the whole state and even the president, who might not know about it) just told that they are against of 'political interference', which is quite an understandable position.

    I myself feel the changes of climate and guess that it will definetely bring a lot of problems. But I am against of political use of this issue.

    Now that we had all the anti Trump conspiracy theories, how about I give a theory of my own. Everyone's talking about climate change, and yet some people noticed that the sun isn't rising and setting in the same place as before. I know the earth's axis shifted during the earthquake in the Indian Ocean, and I think it shifted in the Japanese one... but did it shift again?

    If it did, wouldn't that affect the climate and wouldn't the winters be colder and the summers hotter? Also if it did happen, why is the government being so secretive about it? What is going on?

    Anyway this is just a suspicion on my part because I really don't know much about these things.

    Trump knows he doesn't work for the American people. It's the people themselves who still have to learn this.

    Trump like Obama and Bush before him, work for the corporations and special interests. Without their vast sums they wouldn't be in office. The hope was that Trump being the egoist that he is, would be able to fight them, but they are too powerful.

    I also know that our Geological Institute drives the amateur Dutchsense crazy for proving them wrong time and time again, and that earthquakes can be predicted. The geologists say they can't, and are relentless in their attacks on him. maybe it's because he's pinpointing them and they are always in fracking areas.

    Are the geologists bowing to big business? Nah that's silly, it must be Putin.

    Conspiracy theories come and go,
    and yet with Trump it can't be so.
    It's Putin here, it's Russia there,
    It's what we're told you know?

    The years will come and years will pass,
    but this one's sure to last and last,
    for Russia must remain a foe.
    That's what we're told you know? - Jeannette

    No, the EPA (supposedly) works for the people of this country,

    =====================================================

    The mission of EPA is to protect human health and the environment.

    EPA works to ensure that:

    • Americans have clean air, land and water;
    • National efforts to reduce environmental risks are based on the best available scientific information;
    • Federal laws protecting human health and the environment are administered and enforced fairly, effectively and as Congress intended;
    • Environmental stewardship is integral to U.S. policies concerning natural resources, human health, economic growth, energy, transportation, agriculture, industry, and international trade, and these factors are similarly considered in establishing environmental policy;
    • All parts of society--communities, individuals, businesses, and state, local and tribal governments--have access to accurate information sufficient to effectively participate in managing human health and environmental risks;
    • Contaminated lands and toxic sites are cleaned up by potentially responsible parties and revitalized; and
    • Chemicals in the marketplace are reviewed for safety.

    =====================================================

    Nowhere does it say the EPA works for the Orange Oaf.

    No, there are comments in person that are far different from what they are forced to say in public.

    To some degree this is true, however it is a question of the degree of censorship - who is doing the censorship - and what the motivation is - so it is not a black vs white issue.

    In a free society censorship is low - in a less free society censorship increases.

    That Hitler (or Obama) engaged in nefarious practices - is not justification for Trump to engage in such practices and makes them no less nefarious.
