And prosecutorial with hunts in the US are well documented. Prosecutors have been jailed for their criminal misconduct. Millions of dollars of damages have been awarded to the victims. Prosecutors can and do frequently violate the law to railroad defendants.

 

It pretty much comes down to the corridor cameras. If they were functioning they would show whether someone came into the cell or not. If they weren't functioning that is a BIG issue.

Beyond that, if he did off himself...the jailers need to be scrutinized because that is almost unheard of in those circumstances
