I guess if you repeat the same thing, you think it's a new argument?

Except for American Samoa not being US "soil." It's a US territory, so does the Wong ruling only apply to the States, not territories?

Did you expect reality to somehow change because you insist on being wrong? The ruling is in plain English. Every person born on US soil is a US citizen.

    Applies to US soil

Democrats moved to Oregon and Washington and took them over destroyed long established industries with regulation and forced people out with high taxes, low wage jobs and high property prices.

I've read the ruling, that's why I know your wrong.

Hint: You actually need to be looking at the Slaughterhouse Cases.

Your post shows a very prejudiced & overly narrow view. I am a liberal Democrat, & I know of no Democrat who favors or even supports getting rid of long established industries, because we believe in keeping people employed. We see regulations as a sometimes necessity, as when public safety is involved, though we agree with conservatives, over-regulation can sometimes be a problem. We liberal Democrats want higher taxes on the wealthiest Americans only, but lower taxes for the middle class & working poor--or, the installation of a basic safety net of social programs to assist those who need assistance. Democrats are the ones promoting a national minimum wage of $15./hr. We don't want any Americans forced to work 2 or more jobs just to survive. As a liberal Democrat, a renter, & one who would love a home of their own, I am totally concerned with & utterly opposed to the high property prices we're all afflicted with today. Homes should be affordable & available for anyone wishing to invest in one. Conservative Republicans show concern only for realtors who make more money the higher the home prices go. Lastly, as a liberal Democrat, I want a national healthcare system for every American giving them access to medical care.

You quite obviously haven’t, since you don’t know what it says.

No I don’t. The Wong ruling is perfectly clear.

I watch national news from where I live, & I see no shortage of hatred. I see hatred in the posts of this forum. I've seen hatred my entire life. Possibly because of that unpleasant fact, I refuse to hate anyone or anything. I have seen that hatred, regardless of where it's focused, always ends up damaging the hater more than the hated. What do YOU see that's so special about hate in Portland, OR?

[QUOTE="XploreR, post: 1070873599, member: 66263" I'm sure there are problems in CA [/QUOTE]

The entire state government is dysfunctional and over half of native born Americans who haven't already fled the state haven't had any representation in Sacramento for decades.

Illegal aliens are treated better than Americans in California.

I'm not suggesting ANYONE deserves hatred. It is natural to have different points of view. Democracies are supposed to work thru those differences peacefully. I support democratic processes, so I don't "hate" anyone, or encourage others to do so. I do have a rather long list of things I disagree with Republicans on politically. I'll mention only a few:
*I like diversity & disagree with the current Republican stance for white supremacy. That's an old, worn out tractor that can never fix anything.
*I don't like Republican's total commitment to the economic status quo, where the wealthiest among us have increased their wealth many-fold over the past several decades, while wages for the American worker has been stagnant or decreased. I regard that as a failed system, & one that desperately needs fixing.
*I disagree with conservative Republican stands on abortion. I agree with those who believe the rights of the mother during the first trimester of pregnancy, supersede the right of governments or anyone else to tell them what to do, regarding their own body &/or pregnancy.
*Unlike Republicans today, I am concerned about Global Warming & its affects on all humanity--including us in the U.S. I want us to be the most active leader in fixing that problem since we caused a large portion of it to begin with. I think Republicans who ignore it are just making it more dangerous for our children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren, & I don't think they will respect us for it.
*I am concerned by the extreme polarization Republicans have imposed on their own membership over the past few decades, along with their rejection of all compromise. That's not good for functional democracies, regardless of who causes it. I feel the extremism is weakening our democracy, disrupting the functionality of the government in general, & has caused the Republicans to regard any disagreement by anyone as a form of disloyalty or treason, & those who dare to have a different opinion, as the enemy. None of this makes sense in a democracy.
