    Some measure can be voted by plebiscite others not so much. If they are like Mizzouri legislature they will nullify the vote explaining that the voters don't know what is good for themselves..

    Read the story again.
    They ran away in their stolen Lexus. 3 miles later, they dropped the injured boy off with one other at the scene of a car accident. The boy dropped off with the injured one was arrested. The other 4 (not sure how the math adds up) ran away at high speeds until they ran out of gas. They were not asking the police for help after they dropped their buddy off. Love the way you mis-characterized these predators.

    You didn't read the story with comprehension. They didn't leave the injured boy at the house, they drove off with him, and dropped him off at the scene of a car accident. 5 boys (one with a knife) shouldn't have come at an old man.

    I do, and if my sons and their friends had tried to steal a second car, and then one of them threatened a 75 year old man, I would expect them to be shot.

    I do not agree with the murder charge as no one was murdered, charge the kids for what they are guilty of though

    perfectly ok with him shooting them in self defense if needed, don't try to steal someone stuff if one doesn't want to get shot... moral of the story

    the 75 year old had no intention of shooting anyone that night, the children sadly brought this on themselves

    I do not own a gun, never have, never will, BUT, I do want criminals to fear I might have a gun and they might get shot

    Or he was the ring leader.

    Who knows what he might have made of his life had he not chose to become a thief and take things belonging to others. Ultimately, it was the choices made by the 14 year old that ended his life.

    Since he was so easily influenced to commit felonies by his friends, more than likely it was a gang situation, and he would have become an adult death statistic, if not an actual murderer.

    He made the wrong choice, his choice. You like to change the stories to fit your narratives don't you? Can you find, in the story, where he was dragged along? And he's not a child. 14 is old enough to be tried as an adult.

    Yeah I never liked that law. The kids are guilty of theft and maybe intent to murder, but not murder, because as you said, there was no murder.
