Uh, what? BUY GREENLAND? You gotta be kidding me. Yeah. We need more national debt. I guess he is buying into climate change because that would be the next big coastal are for temperate golf courses. https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/15/poli...ll-street-journal/index.html?no-st=1565959330
It makes strategic and economic sense. It depends on the terms if I was to agree or disagree with it though.
It would be a brilliant move, and one that would pay massively in the long run. Denmark won’t do it though
Aside from the obvious gobsmacking aspects of this nuttery the crowning touch for me was this: ... despite Trump repeatedly bringing this up in dinner conversations and with advisers it might be a "joke," says someone the Journal only describes as a "people." Because "since Mr. Trump hadn’t floated the idea at a campaign rally yet, he probably isn’t seriously considering it." ^^^ This, apparently, is how serious government policy is arrived at - whether a madman shouts it at his adoring crowds at his Nuremberg rallies.
Is there no mole hill leftist won't try to convert into a mountain? Please note we are already paying rent on Thule.
I don't know, I don't think that Greenlanders consider the idea of being bought by Trump a "mole hill". If I were them, I'd consider it an insult.
Given as how Trump is only the latest in a moderately lengthy line. Mole hill it is. Given that the majority of people living there are at the US air station at Thule I don't think most would care.
Geesh, Don got punked but isn't smart enough to know it. I can't believe this is even a subject of conversation.
China is investing in a rare earth mining operation there. It's got its foothold in the Arctic via Russia.
Good idea, exchange a $3.0 trillion economy, 14% of the US GDP, for a $2.7 billion economy. I'm sure California would do fine without the US. The other way around? I'm not so sure. However, without CA, the hicks would have a permanent hold on US government, so they could enact their regressive policies.
I don't know....Cali...needs a lot of Federal support: https://lao.ca.gov/Publications/Report/3531/1 If you honestly think the USA is somehow depended on California to survive....well.....that's almost as divorced from reality as your immigration thread was.
Unlike many red states, CA receives 96 cents for every tax dollar sent to DC, so they are a net contributor. Not as much as other blue states conservatives hate, for example, NJ, NY, MA, but CA contributes, unlike WV, for example, which receives $2.07 for every tax dollar sent to DC. And that doesn't even account for innovation, education etc, in which CA is at the forefront. So, tell me again who is divorced from reality, you or me?
I am merely highlighting it gets massive amounts of money from the feds...more then any other state. It should contribute more the west va it’s bigger
