How can we push for better rule in Syria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Russia, Congo, Venezuela or anywhere else when we work to extend humanitarian atrocity by Israel???

This offer of visitation brings to light a major issue when it comes to those Israel has locked up inside Gaza.

The Israeli blockade of that country is an act of war that has continued for two solid decades with no willingness even to discuss an end. Plus, the travel blockade affecting even Palestinian leadership has serious ramifications on any kind of peace or justice in the region.

Sorry for my earlier reaction, but I've heard to many propose that the offer of a vist showed the big heartenness of Netanyahu and papered over the insult to the congress of the USA by our own president. As you say, it actually points to the devestating conditions Netanyahu has perpetrated for two decades at least.

Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) have remained silent after the Palestinian Authority banned LGBT activity in the West Bank.

Early Monday morning, The Jerusalem Post reported that the PA and Palestine Police had outlawed LGBT activity in the West Bank and threatened to arrest members of the LGBT group Al-Qaws for Sexual & Gender Diversity in Palestinian Society. Al-Qaws was planning a gathering for members in Nablus at the end of the month. The group only has offices in Israel — in East Jerusalem and in Haifa.

Luay Zreikat, a spokesman for Palestine Police, said LGBT activities are "harmful to the higher values and ideals of Palestinian society." He added that Al-Qaws's activities are completely "unrelated to religions and Palestinian traditions and customs, especially in the city of Nablus."

Palestine Police will chase those behind Al-Qaws and bring them to trial once arrested, the PA police spokesman warned. He appealed to Palestinians to report any person connected to the group to police.

It's certainly a sad situation that the only way to get to Palestine is to first get to Israel. I can't see why Israel prevents people going to Palestine. I don't think that it should be too difficult to ensure that people reach the border and cross over. I can't understand why there can't be even a small domestic airport in Palestine. That way people could travel via Israel and take a transfer flight to Palestine without every having to leave transit and enter freely into Israel. I only discovered the other day that there is no airport in Palestine.

We can work out our differences at home. Internationally, US congressmen are to be treated as US congressmen - regardless of whether the president likes their ideas.
