Well, he was chosen by the political insiders who make up the EC. The American People chose Clinton.

 

Sorry. I don't remember getting so excited by looking in the wrong direction as defined by the right.

CNN says it once and the left react by "I believe he did look skyward". After hearing it the hundredth time, the left reacts by "He does look to the heavens every time he says "The chosen one".

 

I didn't see him look upwards. But he did proclaim himself to be "the chosen one". Either out of ignorance or narcissism or (most likely) both.... The fact is that the religious right didn't use to take these things as lightly as they do now. That's yet another thing Trump has changed in this country. Because now they have no moral standing to complain.

Remember the "embracing the Bible" Obama comment? Remember the reaction by the religious right? I'm just wondering where that reaction is now....

 

And right after that he said he was chosen to correct something that had been going on for decades or some such language.

 

Which is besides the point. BTW, I just saw the video again. And he did look up to the heavens. Emphasizing the "religious" connotation. For some reason I didn't notice the first time.

 

Whether Trump was joking or not, there is no doubt that many...."evangelicals"....really do think he's the Chosen One. Which is insane. Was Jesus a p*ssy grabbing porn star banging wife cheating orange mental patient with crazy hair?

Only twice and with different Greek words. I've never heard Jesus styled the Chosen One in theological discourse, it doesn't make sense in Trinitarian terms. Christ is co-eternal with the other two Persons. He was never in any sense chosen.

Yep. A person really has to be careful about looking up and emphasizing religious connotations. This whole thing is just about as silly as you can get. But that is what the left does these days.

Trump did it again. This is surreal.

We are reminded that Putin wanted this man to become our President. No doubt, Putin is quite happy with his choice.

These are final results of our day on Wall Street. Trump's precipitated drop on stocks is far worse than earlier. The Dow ended up off 623 points, reducing the Dow to 25,629. that is 81 points below March 15 when Trump started his trade war with China. The Nasdaq was off 240 points and the S&P 76.

What does all that mean? Because of Trump's tweets today, for the fourth time in a month, he cost millions of Americans to permanently lose principle in their retirement investment accounts. There are many doubters of that statement, but here is how that works.

It is really quite simple. It is 4th grade math.

An IRA has $100,000 dollars in it. Because of Trump's announcement the account loses $5,000. So now the account is down to $95,000. Follow me so far?

Due to market changes, at some point the account gains $5,000. So now the account is back up to $100,000. So, the account didn't lose money. Right?

WRONG! If the account had not lost the money in the first place, when market changes caused it to gain $5,000, the account would have $105,000 in it, not $100,000. The $5,000 lost because of Trump is permanent.

Sorry about that. I mean it. I lost, too, but I'm mostly in bonds. Too old to gamble.

Now I know what some are going to say. Some will say that is ridiculous or something similar. Some will lecture me on the stock market and investing. But no will be able to tell me why the 4th grade math is ridiculous or something similar. That's because the 4th grade math is right on.

Some will say, "Nothing is permanent until it is sold." That argument is made to counter selling stocks because of a downward trend. It has nothing to do with loss of principle, which is what I am talking about.

Thank you Mr. President. I look forward to your next tweet. Praise the Lord. It is the weekend. Trump can't do anymore damage until Monday.

 

They only have to be careful if they're liberals. Respect for Christian beliefs is only expected from liberals. Not from the right. Other things that are expected from liberals, but not from right wing politicians: honesty, intelligence, education, knowledge about the job that they do, respect, morals.... I could go on, but ... you know what you guys dismiss when Trump does it, but would be the ultimate "scandal" if a liberal did it.

For the factually challenged, no. He was NOT chosen by the "American people". He was chosen by the Electoral College. The majority of American voters chose Hillary Clinton. He was still chosen by the American people. The electoral college is how the people choose them. It has been that way for over two centuries.
