    Current day evangelicals.
The ones that believe their religious “freedom” means the ability to impose their beliefs unto others and skate by laws.
I don’t care what happened 100-200 years ago

Religious terrorism belongs to all that believe in imaginary sky deities.
What sect your belong to is irrelevant

Except 90%+ are done by the group whose founder was also violent. Can you guess which one? Atheist regimes managed to murder 100,000,000 without the help of religion, so I'm not sure that's the solution you imagine.

ALL laws are an imposition of somebody's morality. Christians have every bit as much right to be involved in public policy questions as anybody else.

    Or today, apparently.

How far are we going back, would you like to add in the inquisitions or the people burnt or killed because of disbelief in Christianity?

Religious ideology is a mental illness

Laws have a foundational basis on logic or harm to another, religious laws have a foundation of “feelings”.

One man's logic is another man's con. What logic or harm to others are laws against eating horse meat founded on? Couldn't be any feelings involved, could there be?

Horse meat was first banned by.... you guessed it.... religion.
    Further proving my point.

You can eat horse meat today in the US, they just cannot be slaughtered here due to financial limitations imposed on federal inspectors

LOL, so what's why the ban is in effect?

    That makes no sense.

What doesn’t make sense about it?

Tennessee just legalized purchasing alcohol on Sundays last year, another religious law with no logical foundation.

Why it would cost more to inspect a horse than a cow or pig.

In your opinion, that is up to the voters of TN. Do you live there?

Interdepartmental budgets which specify where the inspectors go. Horse meat isn’t illegal in the US, you can import it fairly easily. Production is stopped by what is called a de facto administrative ban.

I do, the ban was heavily unpopular but still took tons of lobbying to remove — even then many churches protested.

    It’s all about control.

We don't have to go back that far. His definition of terrorism is obviously restricted to "Only when Muslims do it" .

In Syria the Obama Administration was supporting Al Qaeda - ISIS and other groups of the same ilk - arming them with tens of thousands of tons of sophisticated military technology.

This action led to the death of over 500,000 - the refugee crisis - and the rise of the modern incarnation of ISIS. And that is just one incident.

Rotten Ronnie supported numerous death squad dictators. El Salvador, Guatemala, and the genocidal Suharto in Indonesia.

Some of death squads would drag children over barbed wire - "till the flesh hung from their bones" in front of their parents.

Sounds like terrorism to me. We trained some of these soldiers in terror tactics at the "School of the America's" Its a sick tale.

The Republican politician Matt Shea connected close allies with a group offering training to young men in “biblical warfare” that includes how to use knives, pistols and rifles, with lessons based in part on the teachings of a Georgia-based neo-Confederate pastor, emails obtained by the Guardian reveal.

Shea, who is an elected Washington state representative, later made videos in support of the group, and appeared alongside them at a gathering at a religious community in remote eastern Washington. He also paid the founder of the group money from his campaign fund in 2018.

The emails, sent in July 2016, begin with an email from Patrick Caughran, who presents himself as the founder of a training group called Team Rugged. They were provided to the Guardian by a former Shea associate who was copied in on the exchange.

Caughran asks Shea to publicize a link to the group’s Facebook page, and put him in touch with “John Jacob Schmidt”, the nom de guerre of Shea associate, Jack Robertson. Robertson is a rightwing podcast host who advocates for conservatives to move to the “American Redoubt” in eastern Washington, Idaho and Montana, and, with Shea, campaigns for eastern Washington to secede and form its own state.

On Team Rugged website, it is described as “a Christian organization that strongly believes in building manly character and the capability to stand in adversity in young men”.

In his email to Shea, however, Caughran offers a different description, saying that the group exists “to provide patriotic and biblical training on war for young men”.

He continues: “Everything about it is both politically incorrect and what would be considered shocking truth to most modern Christians.”

Sure, about 20,000 died in the entire history of the Spanish Inquisition, which was done contrary to the teachings of Jesus, not because of them. Stalin was killing twice that per week at one point.

Atheism wasn't the sole reason for his crimes, but it was a necessary one.

Which some would say of atheism, often caused by bad father relationships.

ALL laws are an imposition of somebody's beliefs. Christians have just as much right to be involved in public policy issues as anyone, deal with it.

So why did you bring up the Inquisition in this thread?
