China is more about $$$, their leader even said "been rich is glorious". India want to do the same. Now the outcome of their economy growth mean US will become the 2nd simply because they have more population.

I’m sure the communist dictator says many things depending on the audience

Rich is nice, but having absolute economic, political, and military dominance over the world is even better

Are Samsung phones made in china?

    If not, why not?

    Where are Samsung phones made?

Answer Wiki. Samsung Electronics is currently manufacturing 50 percent of its mobile phones in Vietnam and only 8 percent in Korea. At present, Samsung Electronics is running six mobile phone manufacturing facilities in the six countries of Vietnam, China, India, Brazil, Indonesia, and Korea.

We may have to require a percentage of phones be made in the US

Your comments are just unbelievable sometimes ... as soon as your Trump love is challenged by the facts you default to trying to demonize the messenger.

I am not left or a liberal and I don't think ronv is either. We are people who want this nation to win but what we see is the bonehead in Chief making huge blunders on the geopolitical chessboard ... the results of which is that the US is "Losing" not winning.

Putting on blinders and ignoring the facts is not going to help us win. Believing in nonsensical platitudes spouted by some Politician and going into denial when those platitudes turn out to be just that .. is not going to help us win. It is this kind of thinking that got is into this mess.

The longer this war continues - the more we hurt - and this BS narrative "China will hurt more" - and I beg to differ but even if true - does not change the fact that we are hurting a whole lot. Further .. this is not just about China .. and the trade war with China. The Iran cluster fk is hurting us even more.

In the past you have commented that you don't care about what the rest of the world thinks. OK - Fine , but they don't care what you think either and the fact of the matter is when the world decreases - or stops dealing with US corporations - it hurts our economy.

What are you talking about ... 2-3% is not the margin. The margin on an Iphone is 300%. This 2-3% is the amount of the cost of production that is attributable to China.

In other words .. for every 100 dollars in manufacturing cost for an Iphone - only 3 bucks is going into the Chinese economy. The wages of Chinese workers and a few other things.

alot Samsung phone is not made in china, Apple is not gonna make phones here, not only unemployment is low here(unless recession happen), but cost and skill is not here it take years to manufacture electronic efficiently. apple may shift some manufacture to vietnam for US market but other US industry suffer tariff from China, so the biggest winner from China-US trade war are not US or China but countries such as vietnam/india/japan/EU etc. i'm sure company located in those countries are so happy now.

US will continue to consume, only buy from other countries. They will grow strong on the expense of China.
US will have more markets to buy from and more to sell to.
Markets that are free markets, not centralized like China.
I only see benefits for the US here.

So your problem is not with the trade deficit, but with China?

The only thing US can sell to developing countries are things they cannot do themselves. It looks like it is mostly IT technology and some food.
China, understanding it, blocked US from doing so by force. You cannot activate google search, nor use facebook. Huge number of IT is blocked by the Chineese in order to develop their own technology and deprive US of its advantages.
You are not playing a fair game here and you have to understand it.
When you go to other countries like vietnam, india and such, the field is even.
I'm not sure it will fix all the issues with the trade deficit, because money, like water, tends to flow to the deepest end, but it will be mu h better and certainly much more fair.

There is a little problem with the so called trade deficit. The IT companies you mentioned are services and not part of how the US calculates trade deficits or surpluses.
If one throws those services in, the US has hardly any trade deficits at all.

consider China will also consume, its already one of the biggest market. so you telling we should let ALL other country take advantage of the tariff war. Cause what happen is manufacture here can move to Mexico to avoid china tariff. China can stop buying US stuff too, it already did with many farm/fishing/meat goods. it goes both ways, dude.
