Apart from anything else, the bar is SEGREGATED! :roflol:

Cadbury says, "this Independence Day, celebrate India's unity in diversity." :roflol: It seems that Cadbury are unaware of India's DIVISIVE, DISGUSTING Caste system where the people at the bottom of the social spectrum aren't even considered human beings!

All publicity is good publicity. The cost of the short-lived minor controversy will likely be outweighed by the long-term increased brand recognition. It’s counter-intuitive but it works and the PR teams running these things know it.

Even if it crosses the line into racism? I don't think so somehow.

Cadbury is a British multinational confectionery company and it is strange for the British company to celebrate India's independence. India was considered the 'Jewel in the Crown' for the British Empire due to India's resources and location. I think the marketing strategy got on Indians' nerves, resulting in the social media backlash.

Well I don't think that Cadbury has any connection to the British Empire.

Yes (though I'm not convinced this was anyway). It doesn't matter why something is controversial, only that they strike the balance of it not being too controversial. I'm not claiming this is either rational or moral, only that it's true.

So a business which gets bad publicity for banning gay and black people will benefit from it?

That kind of thing is much more likely to stir up controversy that pushes the balance too far but it’s certainly possible in some cases. I’m sure some of the businesses which have been accused of discriminatory practices (fairly or not) will have benefited from it commercially. You’d be surprised how deeply ingrained brand recognition can be in people. There’s a reason the big ubiquitous brands are so successful, even when they don’t produce measurably better products than smaller and less well known competitors.

The third gender is the lowest caste and they get treated much like the LGBT does in the US.

There aren't 3 genders, only two.

People are free to live how they feel, but their feelings do not change their gender.

It seems that we both did. Either that or he's full of crap. Sometimes I think that @Moonglow is ACTUALLY Bart Simpson.

It's also condescending and embarrassingly stupid, much like Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder singing about piano keys getting along so 'Why Can't We?'. The profound lesson is that people should get along just like chocolate bars and pianos - and people buy it.

No comparison! One is racist and immoral, and the other is immoral and insane.

Literallt nobody cares. They sell chocolate, fairtrade chocolate in my area.

If anything I'm more offended by the chocolate. There's far better even on supermarket shelves. I enjoy the mashups - crunchie, picnic, boost, etc.

The politically correct tyranny is getting our of hand. Dior made a commercial with Johnny Depp for its new perfume Sauvage that's a tribute to Native Americans and their culture, but not so with the political correctness freaks - even though Dior checked with the Natives before producing it.

The dancing is absolutely lovely. I only wish I could see more of it, but that's not to be with the politically correct freaks. They can only see the negative in everything and beauty in nothing. We should pity them, but how can we when they are imposing their negativity and uglyness on us.
