I bought this 20190910_184142.jpg and this 20190910_184206.jpg Am thinking seriously about renting a booth at the antique mall and selling some stuff. I call this look hillbilly chic. These two pieces should clean up nicely.

Variations on a Theme. As in the monumental popularity
of - ' Joker ' -. Which I suspect will win numerous awards
and I will likely view at the nearest Cimemax.
I like Joaquin Phoenix because of his originality and acting
style. In acting style is almost everything.
Even Doris Day had style. But then so did Paul Muni for
whatever good it's done over time.
    Which explains Me,me,me,me,me ... Meeeeeeeeeeee !
    I don't cotton posting like everyone/Anyone else.
Miss Smarty can attest to this.Going back to our first encounter
    at the Yahoo Boards.
I had 'em tied in knots.

    Never Forget

On September 11, 2001, I was deep in the woods in New York State. No cell connection. No radio or TV. I had no idea what was going on in the city and at the Pentagon. I left the woods and started driving heading home. I was taking in all the sights the woods offered. No need for the radio. The roads were desolate in the area I was but that was not uncommon.

At one point I turned the radio on. The programming was describing what I thought was a War of the Worlds show. I had no interest so I switched stations. The same type of war of the worlds scenario was on every station. I was confused at first. Like what the hell is this? Then I listened close. We were under attack. The City was on lockdown. It was mayhem. People were fleeing. There was major destruction. There may be bombs planted on the bridges and tunnels. All bridges and tunnels were closed. Im driving thinking ok I dont care what it takes, Im getting home to the family. I got on the highway headed home. Nothing on the road other than me. No planes. No people. Nothing. Im getting closer to the bridge that crossed the Hudson River. One of the bridges that were closed. I thought, ok if its closed because there may be bombs planted, I dont care, Im still driving over it. I thought, unroll the windows because if this bridge goes down with me on it and the crash in the water doesn't kill me, I am not going to drown. It was the first time in my life I felt that level of fear in this country. Determination and family pushed fear in the back seat. I came up on the bridge and there was a flashing banner. Ill never forget what it said. It said, "God Bless America". 18 years later I still cant type that without water in my eyes. I crossed the bridge and kept driving until I finally made it home.

Then it was who do we know who was there. Who and what do they need because if we have it send it. The nightmare went on and on. To many it still does. Never forget!

To the people who lost their lives on that day, God rest your souls.
To the family and friends who lost loved ones, God give you the strength you need today and everyday.
To the sick and suffering who were heroes rushing in. To the people who spent endless days searching for people, then remains. To the people who cleaned up what remained of those towers. Thank you and know you should never have to worry that this country will not take care of you in ill heath.

I remember 9/11 as if it were yesterday,

I was at work when the attacks occurred. I heard that a passenger plane had crashed into the North Tower of the WTC and couldn't believe my ears. We had a little TV in the office and turned that on to see what had happened and we were all staring in disbelief at the screen wondering what was going on. Our question was answered when the second jet hit the South Tower of the WTC.

I was raised in Northern Virginia and still have a lot of friends and family living up there and when I heard about the attack at the Pentagon I started to worry about them, not knowing if any of them were at the Pentagon at the time or if there would be more attacks on Washington (at the time I was expecting more). What pissed me off even more was that my father is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, which is immediately adjacent to the Pentagon, and Flight 77 flew right along the perimeter of that hallowed ground before it crashed into the Pentagon.

The thing I remember the most was the anger and feeling in my gut that we were witnessing our generation's version of the attacks on Pearl Harbor and that we were now at war and more American blood would be spilled before it was all over. With that I also realized that the short peace we enjoyed after the fall of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War was over.

The only ray of light that pierced the darkness of that day was the sacrifice the passengers on Flight 93 made when they brought their airliner down in Shanksville. In memory of them and their sacrifice I fly the union of the Flight 93 as my avatar every year on this date.

Today my thoughts and prayers go out to all who died and were wounded on September 11, 2001 and in the ongoing war that followed, including the men who were killed in Benghazi, Libya seven years ago. My thoughts and prayers also go out to their families and friends who will be mourning the loss of their loved ones today and the men and women around the globe who are defending our country and its people against our Islamist enemies.

"Greater love hath no man ...." reminded me of the sacrifice of the passengers of United Airlines Flight 93, the flight that crashed near Shanksville, PA.

More calls and conversations here ... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wo...-extraordinary-last-calls-of-Flight-UA93.html

God bless them all. Never forgotten.

    Better Danny dat Jimmy Olsen.
Who was kind of the stereotypical well-intentioned yet
impressionable young upstart who gravitates towards being
    an eager beaver reporter,is all.
Contrary to Today's upstarts or Millennials.
Who actually traipse throughout the day as if they have
achieved something. When all they did special was bring
mommy a hamper full of their dirty clothes. And arrive for
    breakfast,on time for once.
