If true, which I have my doubts, the Saudi got what they deserved. And so did those who think only Iranian oil can be left out of the market. My own theory, however, remains the same: it was the Houthis -- even if it was cruise missiles and drones modeled along the lines of Iran's Soumar Long Range Cruise Missile and Iranian drones. The "sources" trying to connect Iran directly to this attack are, of course, quite likely ones being paid and beholden by the same special interest groups that worked with Bolton.

He's going to strike back...there is no way Saudi Arabia won't blame Iran even if it were a nursing home in Yemen (lol sorry). All jokes aside this is where ww3 starts... if it starts...so... off the top of my head... we'll have Iran, NK, China, Turkey... dark horse Russia? Russia, Germany, France will maybe sit on the fence...make money out of weapons sales... UK will immediately get involved on US side... because.... UK, so will Australia. Meantime South Korea and Japan are eyeing one another off in Asia....while Hong Kong is a mess.... and China is rumbling around in the SCS sea... ok lovely... I'm going to have dinner now.

1- It is at best 50/50 that Saudi Arabia comes out and blames Iran directly under these circumstances. The Saudis have received a message that they won't be able to ignore easily. A much lighter message saw the UAE shift course a few months ago. And the Saudis have been rather quiet so far. All that said, the other 50 percent relates to the fact that they are led by a spoiled monster who has never shown an ability to control his temper nor one that is used to being challenged. That guy has already done a lot of stupid things and bringing a war they won't be able to handle wouldn't be his first mistake.
2- If war erupts, it won't involve most of the states you mentioned in any military fashion. It will involve Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, and (unfortunately) might also have to involve Qatar, along with Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. And, of course, Israel too. Iran's allies will be mostly non-state actors: Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Iraqi PMU forces, and the Houthis. I don't see any state actor, except maybe Syria, getting involved directly, although the Iraqi and Lebanese governments will be torn apart from the dynamic.

Sometimes, the answers are very simple. Stop trying to strangulate, demonize, and wreck Iran and its economy. Not only "maximum restraint", but even the JCPOA, should be scrapped. Instead, say that you want to be friends with Iran and nothing more. To trade with Iran, to exchange tourists, restore diplomatic relations, and such. Then let the dynamics in Iran take care of the rest. That would yield quicker and better results than whatever else the US has done or is doing.

I doubt very much that the world will take the Trump administration's word on this. I certainly would not accept their statement that the weapons were launched from Iran. Confirmation from a country with a more honest leader would be necessary.

Trump is sure doing a bang-up job on foreign policy.

I agree. An adversarial approach to Iran including the US violating the JCPA undermines Rouhani's moderate approach and gives hardline elements in Iran more power. They can point to his progress as unsuccessful and then take a more aggressive approach to the west, which is in fact what is happening.

We've gone from a point where Iran's nuke program was contained and monitored to a situation where they are on a path to enriching uranium again and being more aggressive in the region.

Putin has had enough with Iran.

Putin has been trying to get Iran out of Syria for some time now.

Iran will keep going stupid and soon will find themselves with nobody on their side.

Iran wan't President Trump to retaliate hoping by doing so, America will find itself in another war and woll go socialist and Trump loses being reelected.

What Iran didn't see coming was that President Trump fired John Bolton.

Actually Trump isn't tweeting as much as you would have expected.

Pompeo and the generals seem to have Trump's tweets under control and are keeping Trump from taking the Iranian bait.

But Trump did tweet "We are locked and loaded"

U.S. military phrase in reference to the M-1 Garand.

You pull the bolt back on a M-1 Garand into the lock position and then insert a 8 round clip into the M-1's magazine and then avoiding getting a "M-1 thumb" you let the bolt fly forward while chambering a round and you are ready to kill the enemy.

I found it was cheaper for me to drive 260 miles to Parker Arizona to fill up my gas tank and drive back to medieval diseases, gangs, illegal aliens, tens of thousands of homeless Americans and liberals than buying gas in California.

I have been seething on this Iraniac / Houtti attack since yesterday. Trump promised me thatvwe were "locked and loaded". Noe the WH spokespersons-people's-talkerists say that "locked and loaded " does not necessarily mean military action.

It is high time that the Saudis with our intelligence info help and our surreptitious help take a major swipe at the Houttis. That will lul the Iraniacs into a sense of false calm and then we smack certain high value Iranian targets. Thus is time that we put all that high talk of how much Israel is our besttest buddy in the ME and they can join us in the smack down of Iran. Iran needs to hurt and bleed in order to get the message.

I really would like to hear what John B would say about this.

M-1 thumb I remember that. During my first go round in college before I dropped out I was in Army ROTC and the M-1 Garland was our "training" aka parade weapon. The protocol for inspections was that we pulled the bolt back with our left hand ( for righties) and used our right thump to release the locked bolt. Of course this was drive run.

    And Jesus is coming back.

Did the War of Gog and Magog Begin ... - Breaking Israel News
    https://www.breakingisraelnews.com/102613/war-gog-magog-begin-saturday
“In many aspects, the situation in Syria conforms to the descriptions in the prophecies of the War of Gog and Magog,” Rabbi Winston told Breaking Israel News. “What happened on Shabbat could easily be the trigger to set off. Shooting down an airplane, especially inside Israeli airspace as was the case with the F-16, is an act of war.”

    Interesting.

Well, hopefully stuff like this will make "The West" stop holding the Saudi Air Force back.

I think Iran would get what they deserve once this happens and Saudi Arabia is free to bomb Iranian cities, just like Iran did to SA.

I will vote for this to happen, I don't want the US to do a damn thing, but because of comments like this I will vote and tell other people to vote, that Iran should be bombed in response to the Saudi Arabia attacks.

After all, it will be what they deserve

Wait .... you are saying that because Iran bombed "us", we should give them what they want?

    Hahahhaha

We are going to restrict your sorry nation even more now. We are going to demand that nations like India stop buying any oil at all from you, they and Germany and several other countries already came out and said Iran was at least very likely to blame.

Hopefully, as said before, this will allow us to let Saudi Arabia off the leash. They have over 350 combat aircraft while Iran has less than 200, all antiquated.

You Iranians thinking that "punching someone" is a good way to get them to stop .... you are trying that with the wrong nation.

I look forward to someone punching back, likely with more sanctions, hopefully we can completely bankrupt you guys soon.

Let us do some damage analysis.
The Sauds heart, but world wide no one cries for them.
EU may pay aclittle more for oil, but they carry no weight.
USA does not need oil from outside, so the less oil there the US benefits.
China is going to pay more for oil and it is major cost for them, so they are going to pay the most. This again benefits the Americans.
Trump sends his regards to the Iranians.
They show the world they are pirats and terrorist and they make the US stronger.
If you want proof, look at the stock market. The US markets did not drop even a bit due to this.

Actually you're mistaken. The stock market dropped as a result of this news. The DJ ended -142 and the NASDAQ - 23

And, it's only Monday. Stay tuned.
