Unless Trump actually goes to war (like they want) this is literally all their argument boils down to.

It's incredible to watch Progressives become the "Pro War" people, after everything we have been through

America is already paying. The RBOB jumped $.15/gal since the 15th. We consume about a billion gallons of gas everyday. The non war with Iran is already costing America consumers $150,000,000/day.

Do you have a defense against the Big One?

That’s right. And USA will have no problems using it against the AGGRESSOR.

Do not **** with America, my friend. Your paper target Revolutionary Guard will turn into a terra-cotta warriors faster than you can scream “Allah help us” !

Why, will President Trump again call away the strike on Iran at the last minute?

Maybe. Wanna bet your lives on it, Iranians?

Completely agree. The years of politically correct combat under the Obama Administration are over. Within 4 hours it will rain over Iran with 3,000 American destroyer deployed missiles and 10,000 bombs from high altitude American air power. The first targets will be all of Iran's offensive power then we'll target their defense systems and finally their oil fields and shipping ports.

The second 4 hours will be more precise urban targeting. With Iran's defense system crippled American air power can accomplish low altitude bombing runs that will devastate every Iranian city. Within 8 hours and without one American boot on the ground Iran will become a parking lot.

I am sorry if I am going to ignore invitations here to engage in chest beating contest. In the real world, and the fantasy world of those who post here, nether the US (acting alone or with Saudi Arabia as proxy) has any realistic military options against Iran. For that reason, no matter how much the temperature is raised in your neck of the woods, in Iran, the temperature is kept at a cool and steady pace.

America's maximum pressure campaign has its own trajectory and intent. That trajectory and intent would be greatly aided by any of the proposals by sides like France (or before them, the Japanese) which the Israelis oppose and which Iran's leadership also opposes too! The same way the JCPOA, which Israel opposed, was also opposed by Iran's military leaders and accepted by Iran's leadership reluctantly and with reservations. That deal was understood to be a fraud from the get go; Trump revealed it was a fraud in unmistakable terms; Hilary would have done the same but using different tactics which would have been actually worse.

So how is it that Israel and the Iranian revolutionary guards share the same interests when it comes to some of these issues? The answer is not merely about Iranian domestic politics or that the revolutionary guards are somehow suicidal or anything of the sort. The ultimate answer arises from what each perceive as the greatest obstacle to the exercise of US military power against Iran. For the Israelis, the biggest obstacles are things like the UN, the EU, anti-war sentiments in the US, etc. For the Iranian revolutionary guards, the real obstacle is Iran's willingness not to appease warmongers and making sure any war with Iran would be truly costly to the global economy, to American forces and interests in the region, and to all those who imagine they want to wage war on Iran.

For Iran, although not for those who make up the reformist wing of its politics and government, as long as Iran has the means to inflict severe damage to the US and its interests and as long as Iran takes appropriate action to remind the US of its willingness to inflict such damage in case of war, there will be no war. Whether that is right or wrong, time will tell. But I am inclined to believe they are right.

The objective is to make sure there isn't anyone stupid enough to want to start a war with Iran.

Of course, no tactic is fail proof or without its costs. The economic warfare against Iran will continue and so will the propaganda war. And all those who are ultimately powerless to stand their ground, and who will go with the flow, will eventually lineup against Iran. But we are used to that. Besides, we tried appeasement once to prevent it and that didn't work.

Israel is not involved but it seems every Islamic nation's first thought is Israel. Saddam Hussein, even as he was under serious siege from the Coalition, was firing rockets at Israel.

Golda Meir was right when she said "Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us".

That's not the problem. The real question is whether Iran is stupid enough to start a war with anyone else. Judging from recent history the answer is 'probably'.
When has everyone lined up against Iran in a military fashion? I hope the Iranian leaders don't think like you do or there'll be hell to pay.

As I said already, Iran's leaders don't follow the advice and hopes of those who wish them ill. You might do better directing your admonitions and policy prescriptions to those who at least share your objectives.

In the meantime, the reality is that Iran is a safe, peaceful country, in a region in flames of war. This despite the fact that America's hostility towards Iran predates any hostility towards regimes and states it has actually invaded during the same time. And it is not just Iran; Hezbollah has basically kept Lebanon safe since the 2006 war. The Lebanese have known more than a decade of peace, longer than they knew at any other time since 1976, and they know why that is. For instance, they understand that if Hezbollah had not hit at Israel recently, in response to Israel breaching its red lines and undertaking an assault on Lebanon, that Israel would have been doing more of what it does (and sometimes merely claims to be doing) in Syria.

Let me address the elephant in the room (I really like elephants btw) Saudi Arabia not only were involved with the planning of 9/11... but apparently also assisted the 9/11 bombers inside America. Yet Afghanistan and Iraq were bombed.... and bin Laden found in Pakistan!! Where's the bombing of Pakistan?

Honestly I think Saudi Arabia need to pack up their nice little display of "look what they did to us" and look at defensive systems to protect themselves... after all they have plenty of money... why should America get directly involved here... bad news for everybody.

With Bolton gone there aren't any real people in power who are pushing for war. Only people like Condolesa Rice yelling from the outside that we should remember Iraq and Libya and Syria .... because they were great examples for us to look on.

On the other side however, we have all kinds of Left wing sources talking about how Trump is ruining our foreign policy, even though he has started fewer conflicts going on anyone since Carter. Heck you have the media basically baiting him to attack.

But it isn't going to happen, Trump supporters are INCREDIBLY anti-war.

You are right and wrong at the same time! :)
Many Trump supporters are actually very "pro war" even if some aren't. You don't need to go too far to recognize that. There is clear evidence of it even on this forum.

But there are also many Republicans who aren't genuine "Trump supporters" who are also pro-war. Take Lindsey Graham, who is a paid agent of the military industrial lobby (defense contractors etc, not to be confused with the American military which is actually mostly a voice of reason and caution on this issue) and the pro Israel lobby (together along with the Christian evangelical Zonists, constituting the neocons). Like Bolton, who worked for Trump but was never part of his genuine support base, these folks are present all around the American government and occupy influential positions in various places, including in the Trump administration. Trump himself, in fact, is rather fed up with them but has resigned to the idea that he can't stop them. Once he discovered these folks are behind a lot of leaks against him (including Bolton, which he fired) and discovered the Israelis were even wiretapping their "best friends" conversations, and noticed all the pressures on him, he has basically given up. He is no longer really even in charge. Otherwise, an obstinate person like Trump wouldn't say that "if it was up to me" Iranian officials who are required to be granted visas for the UN general assembly but who haven't been granted such visas yet, would be allowed to come to the US!!! That is what Trump had to say, showing the level of resignation with the forces around him.

But to be sure, the neocon lobby -- by virtue of the reach of its special interest groups -- extends to elements within the Democratic party too. The only difference, really, is that while the pro Israel lobby traditionally had the Jewish Democratic base to support them, they have largely lost that support base. And the rest of the rank and file in the Democratic party are quite opposed to both the pro Israel lobby and the military industrial lobby. Still, there are plenty of Hillary Clintons around the Democratic party too. And they will be the ones criticizing Trump for showing "weakness" against Iran.
