yes you mock conspiracy theorist and people preaching about how the end is nigh. you don't respect these people in general Lee and our history we don't give them a platform where they have an audience like she did.

This new version of environmentalism is just an effort to try and enforce socialism it has nothing to do with the environment.

Are China and India not part of the UN? Is the UN not where countries come together to find solutions to these things? I like how "angry white men" on the internet seem to think they know so much and yet this 16 year old girl has managed to once again prove that wrong.

She's a cultist spouting off end of times and you embrace her. Classic.

Look at you with the race card. Pathetic.

If environmentalism has a new version, can you at least not be lazy and keep using the same, tired old argument against it? That is, it's socialism. Try a new argument. At least you will get some use out of that thing your neck lugs around all day.

Children are not independent thinkers. Surely you know that.

I used quotes for a reason. But my apologies, you must be a "shark-American?" Uh, "gilled American?" "Cartilage abundant American?" "Spineless American?" I think I got it right finally!

The end of times? No, not the end of times. Times will go on, it's just a matter of what those times will look like and how much they will cost. That's the one thing you climate challenged Americans don't seem to get, humans will probably survive, but at what cost? And do you think you somehow are immune to the climate? Do you live in a cave deep underground? Even so, you're still not immune to the climate. It provides you with the food you eat, you realize, right? Just checking.

Yes it is the kids fault. Even at that age I was able to think for myself. If something did not add up I simply did not buy into it. Thess kids are swallowing this crap hook, line and sinker.

Really? Only someone who knows little about children would say such a thing. I have two, they think on their own all the time. True, they are open to suggestion, but perhaps you should try getting a 16 year old to think exactly the way you do. Best of luck...

If she can't handle feedback she needs to shut up and get out of the public arena. Since when do we let someone too young to vote tell us what to do?

The UN, for the most part, is where dictatorships come together.

No one but the people who don't like what it says have noticed or would even agree with your statement.

Here's a fun story. Until I was 25, I thought that eating bananas made you more susceptible to mosquito bites. Something about the potassium in your blood from the banana makes them more likely to bite you. Anyway, I said that to someone in a conversation and they said, that's right. And I said I'm pretty sure it is. And then we googled it. Turns out, it's not right at all. So did I say all mosquito science was wrong because long held belief turned out to be false? Nope! I changed what I thought! You can too!

No the UN is where countries come together to blame America for all their problems.

I'm not sure you know what the word "accurate" means.

Because the one you have now is both old and wrong. So, try a new one. Otherwise you're just gonna be boring and no one wants a bore.

If it's ironic to you that's great, but again, you're not thinking, you're just not liking reality and looking for a way to justify your beliefs. It's called motivated reasoning and it's OK, all humans are great at it. Believe me, do you think I want to trade comfort for a better environment? No way. I want comfort. But the data says I may have to make some compromises. I accept data, logical conclusions that come from said data, and reality. They all line up against you, pal.

LOL! The fact that children rebel against their parents is not evidence of independent adult thinking.

Children are easily manipulated. That is why they cannot even enter into a contract - or vote.

Only someone who thinks the US is 100% right all the time (spoiler alert, we aren't!) would say that. The UN backs like 98% of what we want in the world. That's because it was founded on...wait for it...Western, democratic, liberal (not like you use it) ideals! American ideals! So just because the world as a whole thinks a little less of Israel than you do, doesn't make the UN a problem. As for Greta, she's doing great.

Oh and this thread was about Trump mocking her, which was stupid and wrong and only appeals to the worst of you.

Loved Trump in his speech today criticizing repressive dictatorships, that make up most of the UN.

    Fake Science is now rampant.

"This was a year for splashy headlines about retractions, after some much-ballyhooed findings were pulled. Some prominent scientists each retracted multiple papers in 2015. And, of course, the last 12 months saw more and more cases of faked peer review. Here, in no particular order, are our picks for the top 10 retraction stories of 2015."
THE SCIENTIST, The Top 10 Retractions of 2015, A look at this year’s most memorable retractions, By Retraction Watch | December 23, 2015.
    https://www.the-scientist.com/?articles.view/articleNo/44895/title/The-Top-10-Retractions-of-2015/

Scientists have squandered their credibility for money and pop politics. Sad but true.

Uh...it's actually the hallmark of it. Oh I see, you are confusing the outcomes of their thinking with the thinking itself. True, inexperience people tend to make worse life choices, but that doesn't mean they didn't think independently to arrive at their conclusion. Parents aren't there to THINK for their children, they are there to guide their choices via teaching so they learn to make better and better ones.

Entering into a contract or voting is different than noticing a problem and finding a way to influence the decision to solve it. And again, if this girl was calling for the UN to provide guns to everyone at birth, you wouldn't be making this argument. No, she's only manipulated because she's saying something you disagree with.
