Tons of bills are in the senate waiting to be voted on. Mitch owns that.

I bet you could have got 100-1 on Obama to be impeached in any of his years in office.

Repeating something that is wrong doesn't magically make it true.

Again, the DNI doesn't get to "determine" anything. That is not anywhere in the law. You are simply wrong.

Do you have a source? The relevant statute about Contempt of Congress does not say "shall prosecute".
    https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/2/194

It only says "(the case shall be sent to) the appropriate United States Attorney, whose duty it shall be to bring the matter before the grand jury for its action."

Since prosecutors control the grand jury, that's effectively leaving it up to the prosecutor's discretion.

Oh, I see; you're looping in the OLC. We don't have any actual idea what, if anything, the OLC said. But it doesn't change the fact that the law in question doesn't give the DNI the authority to second-guess the IG.

It's just another inquiry, she's trying to have it both ways. No evidence the moderate Dems who won last time will go for this, it may not even make it out of the House.

Actually, you can. Maybe not a good idea, but Congress can impeach for any reason, or none.

The IG of the DNI is limited to employees of the DNI.

Are you denying the OLC at the DNI said it was not a valid whistleblower complaint?

    The OLC does.

Didn't say not say, Andy McCarthy on Fox News today.
And his point was there is some discretion.

That it does not meet the statutory requirements to be a whistleblower complaint, the person making it does not even have first hand information let alone the President does not come under the statute.

Where are the actual whistleblowers if there are any?

Bills that need to be negotiated and reconciled. That is not going to happen now.

Only because the “shall” phrase refers to the grand jury. In the law we’re talking about, there is no such wiggle room.

The DNI has left them hanging. They have to go through channels to talk to Congress, and when the DNI decided to withhold the complaint, he also failed to tell the IG how the whistleblower could meet with Congress — ALSO a violation of the law.

They have a lawyer who has been speaking publicly, and he has said the person would like to testify to Congress.

Let's say he doesn't release the transcript..... Can anyone get them? He could just claim executive privilege couldn't he?

It's his responsibility to insure taxpayer dollars are not sent and misused by corrupt governments and government officials. Is Biden above the law, cannot be investigate when there is at the least reasonable suspicion? Look how the Obama administration started and investigation against Trump and his campaign without a shred of evidence of any impropriety and turned up empty. Now they complain that initial actions were taken to look into what happened in Ukraine after Biden threatened them and apparently saved his sons arse and made into a rich man by a Ukriane sweetheart deal for which he was not qualified?

He's releasing the transcript and who said there is an audio recording. It's not necessary anyway there are multiple note takers.

Too bad as Obama said ,

    "
Finally we got this car up on level ground. And, yes, it's a little beat up. It needs to go to the body shop. It's got some dents; it needs a tune-up. But it's pointing in the right direction. And now we've got the Republicans tapping us on the shoulder, saying, we want the keys back.

You can't have the keys back. You don't know how to drive. You can ride with us if you want, but you got to sit in the backseat. We're going to put middle-class America in the front seat. We're looking out for them."

Democrats are in the back of the bus and they don't set the policy's because they don't have the Senate or the Whitehouse

Maybe. Not sure if calls like that are covered by privilege if Congress really wants it.

Also, remember that the whistleblower complaint covers more than just one phone call. Which is why Congress really wants to see the complaint.

there is plenty to impeach Trump on, dems just waiting for Trump to do even more while they collected info, Trump has obstructed every step of the way, now he can't, this is a good day for America

we all know the Senate won't impeach, but I am fine with just the house impeaching, this needs to be in the history books

I don't fully believe Trump will release the transcript if he does everyone can tell me they told me so.... But wouldn't most of this be covered by executive privilege if he so chooses to use it?
