Given the U.S. government hasn't executed a traitor in generations it was indeed a joke.

It is a clear cut case of threatening a witness - another crime.

You can tell he feels cornered and threatened. They got him on this one! And the whistle blower said this isn't the first time they hid information about trump in the secret server.

In Trumpworld, when you are perceived to be disloyal to Don by doing your duty in reporting his crimes in exactly the manner set up for a WB, he sees you as being disloyal to the country..................when in fact the opposite is true.

    Executing spies is a problem?

Isn't that the punishment under the law?

Suggesting that someone be executed for following whistleblower protocol is the problem, no those saying hey may be not kill someone for being politically inconvenient. Also, if you meant to address an Obama fan, yet another fail.

There is no evidence the whistleblower violated the Espionage Act, and I'm pretty sure execution is not the typical punishment for espionage. I'm sorry if the truth is politically inconvenient for Trump, but no, I don't support murdering someone who appears to have taken the legal path.

Now it would be too obvious, but a hundred years ago he might have said it differently. He would have said something like "Wouldn't it be a shame if my gun-nut supporters were to find out who this person is?"

A clear message to all those who ever considered "squealing" on Trump. They better look under the covers, because they might find a horse's head.

This is more inline with making a bomb threat in an airport. It doesn't matter if its a joke or not. Just saying it is a crime.

And you KNOW it WAS intended as a threat.

He simply repeated what is done, by law, to spies.

That's why he didn't say we should execute the whistleblower, but wondered if the people who fed the information to the wb were spies, then reminded us of what used to happen to spies.

I'm with Phil Mudd on this. It isn't the intel agencies' job to spy on the President. Whistle blowing isn't spying on the President and sneaking a document containing rumors to politicians who would benefit greatly from the country failing. As Al Green said, "We have to impeach or Trump will win in 2020".

Now, Snowden was a whistle blower. If Obama had his way, Snowden would have been shot for exposing his and Clapper's lies.

Yep! A joke that only one of Trump's gun-nut supporters needs to "get" to take this where Trump wants.

Incidentially, if you paid attention, you'd see he wasn't talking about the "whistleblower". Take your time reading it.

It was said with a purpose. Just as him falsely accusing the intel community of spying on his campaign was done with a purpose. It's red meat for the minions. As he always does, he is trying to turn the table on his accusers and make the narrative about them. It's about deflection, obfuscation, muddying the waters. It's his MO.

If we see him in a gasoline station he's in big trouble. We're supposed to push back.
