Decades later? The writers sought out these unknown people? And there weren't many there. That's just nonsense. This was Passover week and preparations were in hand. The 'mob' that supposedly shouted for Barabbas would have been brought together by the High Priest. There was no Barabbas. If a man had been convicted previously he was punished straight away. There were no 'Jails' to keep convicted prisoners.

    In verse 41; Mark says,

Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there.

So why should anyone believe your nonsense over the testimony of Mark? And why would anyone have to wait decades when the events were witnessed by many bystanders, including Mary Magdalene who spoke to the disciples soon thereafter on Sunday morning, which would allow the disciples to then carry that testimony with them from then on.

To the rest of your post, what is it? Some babble created by an atheist website somewhere? Is denial all you have?

You really are amusing. It was Passover. With all the preparations needed most women would have been at home preparing the Passover meal and the table., The men of a household would have been queued at the Temple from 12 - 3 pm waiting for their lamb to be sacrificed by the Priests. Given that there were many households and considering the procedure, this would have taken some time.

You really know little of the time. Judgement and punishment were swift.

    History of Prisons

From the birth of modern civilization in 3rd millennia BC, almost every major ancient civilization used concept of prisons as a mean to detain and remove personal freedoms of incarcerated people. In those early periods of history, prisons were often used as a temporary stopgap before sentencing to death or life of slavery, but as time went on and our civilization developed, prisons started morphing into correctional facilitiesthat started implementing the concept of rehabilitation and reform of prisoners.

Mark Says? Does Mark tell you how these MANY women were able to leave their homes and families a week before (Jesus rode into Jerusalem days before). I wonder what their husbands had to say when they had to come home from work and found their wives gone and their children alone. They would have to feed the children, do the housework, etc. Where would these 'MANY' women stay. .Jerusalem was crowded for Passover. Women didn't just up and go, and husbands certainly would not ca\rry out the wives duties unless she was ill - then usually a family member would do it.

We're living in an altogether different world.

You're welcome to believe Mark, He's not particularly known for his geographical knowledge of Palestine. Perhaps because he came from North Africa with his Parents. The gospels give us the story of a Jewish man called Jesus who was 'made' divine by the misuse of OT Prophecies by Matthew. An evangelist for Judaism. .

Nothing you say contradicts the message of the gospels. You use broad generalizations to infer specifics, and you use specifics to infer broad generalizations. It's all just useless blather.

Sorry, but my patience for you has expired.

The history of prisons disturb you. I learnt all this many years ago when I studied the Bible as a Christian. The 'Gospel' was meant for the Jews. Jesus said this several times. There are no prophecies in the OT regarding Jesus.as a Messiah. Even Jesus didn't believe he was. Jesus messiah was to be the Jewish Messiah. When the disciples drew swards in the Garden they were told to put them away. And they realised the truth. Messiah means anointed one, and there are many in the OT who were 'anointed ones'.

The Jewish Messiah is yet to come - believe the Jews.

    Personally I'm agnostic.

There is only one "Anointed" referenced in the OT, only one in the NT, and both are the same entity; the OT by prophecy, and the NT in person.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord hath anointed Me to preach good tidings unto the meek. He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound." - Isaiah 61:1.

And He (Jesus) was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed" - Luke 4:17-18.

Why do you think a Jewish lich is going to save your soul and give you eternal life when he said that he had only been sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel?

    REALLY?

    Ex. 29:7
    Lev. 4:3-5 6:20 16:32
    1 Samuel 24:6-10 26:9-11
    Psalm 18 v 50 20:6 132:10

In fact, there is no evidence that Jesus was anointed. In Isaiah 61 he is talking about himself.(Isaiah) Read Isaiah 1:1 His 'visions' finish with Hezekiah. Did
Jesus fulfill the rest of Isaiah 61? As I said recently to someone else, you can't take a couple of verses out of context without making the Bible a nonsense. That's why there are so many sects today. Gospel writers did it frequently.

Possibly. But when I actually take the time to post from my own notes I don't always have the reference to hand. I have done many studies and used quotes from the internet and from books - before the internet even came into being.

You can remember links - books etc dating back to the 1960's/70's? I doubt you will ever have heard of many of the authors of the time.

As a gift to you I offer this book title. 1 & 2 Samuel. A Commentary. by Robert P Gordon. ISBN 0-310-23022-3. If you study the life of David as recorded in the Bible it helps understand the thinking of the time, and the nuances of the Hebrew language. It explains the idea of representative combat in olden times. It explains David's plea to Saul not to drive him away from Palestine. They believed that God dwelt in the Temple and was found only in the boundaries of the country. To die outside meant to die outside of God's presence - forever. Something which only changed when they were taken into Babylon.
Look outside the Bible to understand the inside of the Bible.

Just provide your links when you copy and paste. It's the scholarly thing to do. To understand the Scriptures, you study the Scriptures, not outside the Bible.

According to you, everything must go just the way you want it or it is worthless. According to you and only you. Facts do not matter to those with your mindset.

BTW, I have noticed a serious lack of links or citations in your posts, something you claim to object to.

He was a human body. Subject to human pain.

He may have said this in pain and wanted the body to die to escape the intense suffering.

Jesus took the punishment for the sins of the world. He became the sacrificial lamb. Scripture says he went to hell.

? So God using a human body, and creator of the human body, said whoa this hurts more than I thought and said " hey me, why did you leave me like this, it sucks" or similar Aramaic.
    Another bad rationalization.

It is very reasonable. For if god inhabited a human body and subject to what a human is subject yo this would explain his words

Christ is also said to have wept at the death of a friend . And humans feel grief.

Being incarnated into a human body and experiencing what that id like is possible if god exists.

So quite reasonable as ideas go.

Agree. Scripture says Jesus was tempted and never sinned. Yet, he did experience joy, sadness, pain and death as all humans do. Scripture says that makes Him qualified to be our high priest because He understands what we are going through.

Imo Christ was also the example that the spirit of god can even dwell in other humans. He quoted scripture that said we can be sons of god.

God can live in us By a spiritual rebirth.

SCRIPTURE SAYS. SCRIPTURE SAYS SCRIPTURE SAYS. You're repetitive.

You will NEVER understand what the Bible says without going outside the Bible.

Yes, and the emotion he was expressing was betrayal. Seems quite incongruous for a messiah to bring up right before he died.
