Is Saudi Arabia a bigger threat to the United States than Iran? Is Trump a traitor by allowing Saudi Arabia virtual control over our troops?

In the 1970's Saudi was a big threat because they inflicted great damage on the American economy through OPEC.

Today, the U. S. is energy self-sufficient, and Saudi Arabia's influence is waning. And, what we see now is that Iran's proxy military can attack the largest petroleum complex in the entire Middle East and GET COMPLETELY AWAY WITH IT. Saudi Arabia isn't doing ANYTHING in retaliation for these astounding attacks!

Meanwhile, Iran is speeding on toward the development of thermonuclear hydrogen bombs and the missile systems to send them anywhere on the planet.

    Who's the greater 'threat'...? :roflol:

Neither is a threat. Fence the whole area off and let them deal with one another. We can check back every hundred years or so and see if there is anyone worth speaking too.

Not too long ago I would have agreed with you... but now the muscular dynamic of the Sino-Russian alliance is becoming ever stronger throughout the Middle East (and throughout the entire Eastern Hemisphere). The Russians and the Chinese will dominate the entire Middle East in probably no more than another five years, and, at the rate things are going, they will "call the shots" everwhere else in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa). There won't BE a "Saudi Arabia" ruled by some "king" and his 1,100 "princes" after the Russians and Chinese are through with the region....

Russia tells Turkey, Syria, Iran, and Iran's puppets "how it's going to be" in the Middle East. China has swooped into the Middle East, Southern Africa, and deeper and deeper into Europe with its own "Belt and Road" initiative, which has been wildly successful and very penetrating -- especially in Sub-Saharan Africa. And the Chinese are establishing military and navy bases there, too. You can easily see what's going to happen....

Meanwhile, where is the United States? Fighting our own bitter, destructive, political civil war... "fiddling while Rome burns...."

We do not need anything from the middle east now. If not for our ties with Israel we could leave tomorrow and be much better off. So let the Russians and the Chinese have them. It has already cost thousands of American lives and billions of dollars for little to no gain. Why not let the Russo/sino alliance pay the butchers bill for a hundred years?

I hate to sound like some kind of ancient "domino-theory" guy, but if we just forfeit half the planet to Russia and China -- AFTER we expended enormous amounts of both 'blood and treasure', it won't be long before they come after the OTHER half of the planet, too. Hell, the Chinese have already moved into South America and Mexico in a significant way, on top of everything else, too. They're doing everything right, and we're doing everything wrong!

And, meanwhile, in the United States, all we do is fight each other! It ISN'T going to end well for us, and now it probably won't take nearly as long for us to fall apart as I had originally thought it could.

Put it this way -- I feel BAD for any American less than about 45 years old. They will see the ongoing destructive decay and ruination of this country take us into complete paralysis and total collapse.

Isnt it more likely we will just be the British of the 21st century? The world will go on and no country is destined to be the big dog for ever. But just because you are not the one in charge does not mean that the world ends for your country.

I sure hope you're wrong, crawdad! But, you picked the right point of comparison. "Great" Britain is today's premier example of just what happens to a once-mighty, once-great nation after it wrecks everything about itself that ever held value or greatness....

Just look at what happened to Britain after being suckered into starting the war with Germany! It's all been straight downhill for "Great"
Britain ever since.... Sure, they had a 'pyrrhic victory' in World War II, but in truth, they lost EVERYTHING except "the pot and the window". And, if you count their 'empire' into the loss, they actually lost most of the pot and window, too.

In the post-war world? The British "peck sh*t with the chickens", and it's GERMANY and the European Central Bank who rule the roost in the EU -- which I doubt now that "Great" Britain will ever be able to fully leave!

[IMG]. The ONLY thing left in "Great" Britain that's worth a damn....

Is it so horrible to be British now and live in Britain? I mean, sure they are no longer the rulers of a vast empire. But what of the common man? Can most Britons raise their children, practice their religion, and in general live in peace with their neighbors? Isnt that what is truly important in this world?

Our last 5 Presidents have allowed KSA jurisdiction over our "theater".

Why are you now just singling out Trump for doing what was passed on to him?

Unless of course you have threads that you can cite that shows your outrage from previous administrations. Can we take you seriously?

    Negative

So argument from ignorance and even some possible whataboutisms. I haven't posted something everywhere is not evidence I don't believe said thing. Try harder. Yes, we have been doing the same crap for 70 years. Time to quit. Hard to kick the habit I know.

We no longer need their oil.
I should have worded it better. You said Iran is a bigger threat than Saudi Arabia. Why are they a bigger threat than the Saudi's?

Neither is a "bigger threat". They are both awful countries that we could demolish if we had a President that had the balls of someone from the 1940's.

Both countries suck, to answer your question.

Regardless of your nonsense. It is a real thing. Trump is the current president. Saying but whatabout Obama is not a valid argument. And what those previous presidents did was terrible. Not saying otherwise. Trump continues to perpetuate and does it in the worst way possible. That's a seperate issue though. Plenty of that in other threads.

Edit: Reason I posted this thread was also to get the opinions and reasons from the people who don't think Tulsi had validity in her statements as I agree with her.

And also more reasons for her positions.

Well this thread seems kinda pointless then. Seems like you had your answer before you asked the question.

Goes back further than that.. Saudi oil from Ghawar fueled the Marshall Plan and cheap oil from Arabia made America a superpower. Plus, they kept our troops in Vietnam supplied with fuel.

You don't have to listen to everything I say.:clapping:
Second question was if Tulsi's criticism was valid? I believe it had validity.

Sweet Jesus. Valerie Jarrett left Iran when she was 5 years old and in those days there was a huge American ex-pat community in Iran. Why don't you think before you make such asinine assumptions?
