it is viable.... and the strawman is that you are citing something that doesn’t happen for your argument
Well that's good that you're honest enough to admit that it is right to call it a baby before birth at least at SOME point. I actually thought that you were in the 'only a baby once born' camp. I guess I was wrong! No, I'm not trying to say that lots of abortions happen one week before birth. I'm just focusing on when it is a baby, which is entirely separate to the abortion argument.
Obviously my post was referring to the single cell conception. If one does not understand the beginning - there is no hope of understanding other stages. If one can not add and subtract - good luck with differential calculus.
Okay, but would you say that there is any point in the term where there is no difference to a born living human?
Okay, but when I said, "you referred to it as your BABY at least one week before giving birth! Or at least you have friends and family that did", you did not dispute that! So it's clear that what I said is true!
There is always going to be a difference - breathing oxygen for example - a feature that is used by some as bar. I argue that once the fetus obtains significant brain function = cognition - ability think and feel pain - have memories ... a living human exists.
Certainly from a moral perspective. Legal is a different question - but even on that one I am not against restrictions after the point of sentience.
There is a difference between 1) having a moral belief and 2) forcing that belief on others through physical violence. The Legal question is all about #2 .. the moral question is not.
Are you saying that there is a problem with forcing a moral belief on others through physical violence?
What I said was ... the difference between making a law and having a moral belief - is that in the case of law someones belief is being forced on another through physical violence. I made no comment on any problem.
What you are doing is like people who call their dogs their babies. Then you ask them at what point did it become a dog? This is called personification. I fantasize so I humanize her. Kind of like seeing a nice apartment and furnishing it in my mind. It isn’t mine yet It is a viable fetus fetus fetus fetus fetus until it is born
Okay, so does that mean that she was always of less value than post-birth? I really don't think that any mother could say that in their right mind. I 100% agree. SCIENTIFICALLY it IS in fact a viable fetus! It is also a BABY as far as I'm concerned!
Absolutely she was of less value when she was a zygote. You see what you are doing is personifying the Zygote and making it my adorable little toddler. That’s why the question of would you miss your child if you had a aborted it is a ridiculous question. I would wonder perhaps, but women don’t usually personify ZEFs
No, if someone doesn't dispute what YOU say that does not make what you said true....that is the most illogical statement I have ever seen in this forum and that's saying something...
