My experience has been that Mexicans are excellent, smart and productive workers. Very honest, polite and witty too.
The reason there are forest fires in the West is because there are forests. There is not much more than grassland between the front range of the Rockies to the Mississippi River. East of the Mississippi, where 80% of the people live, there is too little of forests, for forest fires to be much of an issue. I've lived most of my life in Colorado. It is a rather dry state, averaging around 18" of rain a year. The western half of the state is mostly forest. In the summer months, those forests are vulnerable to wild fires. What Colorado has done, to great effect is to have a fire ban system in place. There are signs aplenty, as are public information announcements. Campers, by law can only have fires in appropriate pits. In backwoods areas, campers have to use gas stoves to cook. Another effective measure was to regularly cut the vegetation along railroad tracks and highways. I think that there was a study once that showed that, discarded cigarette buts were one of the leading causes of wildfire. By reducing the flammable material within throwing distance of an occupant of a passing vehicle, wild fires have been reduced. In South Dakota, farmers cut the grass that grows along the highways, and use it in their operations. They also have a big fire danger campaign and burning bans. I would expect that California uses similar efforts. The problems have been made worse because of global warming, which is global pollution that is caused by over population. Birth control, including abortion is central to a workable solution.
No, California taxes gasoline the highest gas tax in the country then they spend the gas tax money on bike lanes, soccer fields and free stuff for illegal aliens. California Democratic legislatures expect wildfires to manage the brush and grass growing along California's highways.

I've noticed that too. You see it on construction projects quite a bit. The regular construction workers, as well as the ones who stand in certain parking lots waiting for day labor jobs, that all seem to have a strong work ethic. They also have the added benefit that they often work as a group, which benefits everyone. There was one project on this really big house. In the back there was this large patio and swimming pool area. At one end was a team of Mexicans, laying down paving stones. At the other end was a team of Ukrainians laying down paving stones. The Mexicans seemed to all be rather short. I thought it odd how much gold colored jewelry the Ukrainians were wearing. Comparing the two was quite interesting. The Mexicans kept their heads down and working together, they easily finished their part without a problem. The Ukrainians spent a lot of time fighting with each other, and fixing their own mistakes.
There are more than enough native born Americans leaving California, already 10 million have already left the state. But the Democrats in Sacrament still has the welcome mat out at the border and they are replacing the native born Americans. 1/3 of those living in California today were not born in America. 1/2 of those living in California today don't speak English in the home. I’d really love to sit here all afternoon debating the virtues of our Mexican brothers and sisters but I’m heading up to Bakersfield to see Dwight Yoakam. Hopefully Flacco Jiménez will be there playing his Mex-accordion and lots of Mexican California country music fans too. Most Mexicans love Dwight just like they loved Merle Haggard and Buck Owens all of who came from poor fieldworking families from Okie and Arky country. Those real Americans appreciated working people no matter where they came from or what papers they have in their pockets. Bakersfield, home of the California Country sound!!!!

There's no longer a country western FM radio station in L.A. There's only one jazz FM radio station and it's in Long Beach where it always was. No blues radio station. But L.A. has three NPR radio stations and a Marxist Pacifica KPFK radio station. Now that KPFK is about Marxist as one could be, extreme radical left advocating violence and wars of liberation.
