LeBron James: Daryl Morey was 'misinformed' before sending tweet about China and Hong Kong

LOS ANGELES -- LeBron James believes Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey "wasn't educated" before he sent the tweet in support of antigovernment protesters in Hong Kong that damaged relations between China and the NBA.

"I don't want to get into a [verbal] feud with Daryl Morey, but I believe he wasn't educated on the situation at hand, and he spoke," James said before the Los Angeles Lakers played the Golden State Warriors in a preseason game at Staples Center. "And so many people could have been harmed not only financially, physically, emotionally, spiritually. So just be careful what we tweet and say and we do, even though, yes, we do have freedom of speech, but there can be a lot of negative that comes with that, too."

So Lebron the basketball player is saying that Daryl Morey, GM of the Houston Rockets and owner of several degrees from MIT, is not educated on the Hong Kong situation.

Here is what Morey tweeted:

"Fight for freedom, stand for Hong Kong."

It's amazing to me that anybody would disagree with that statement, but alas, here we are. Why? Because money, that's why.

Lebron was so upset when people told him to shut up and dribble; he was outraged and took a stand to say that he can have a political opinion, too. We know he, and others, have political opinions because they let it be known Trump is literally Hitler. They had opinions on Black Lives Matter and bathroom laws, but not human rights violation in China.

In THIS case, the woke NBA declines to comment because doing so would cost them billions.

We have professional athletes afraid to shame a human rights violator for violating human rights but yet, they were so woke when Kaepernick was protesting cops or something.

Another example of corporate hypocrisy.

 

The NBA has lost its soul. I am a huge Lakers' fan. In my home office I have signed, glass encased, signed Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul Jabbar jersies.

This is a sad moment for the league. The next time they want to claim some sort of Social Justice, they can **** right off.

 

It was more than a year ago that NBA superstar LeBron James bristled at the notion that he ought to just “shut up and dribble” rather than express his sociopolitical views.

James immediately fired back at the comment by Fox News host Laura Ingraham after the 2018 NBA All-Star Game:

“I will not shut up and dribble. I owe it to my peers. I owe it to my fans. I owe it to the youth. I owe it…to everybody that has laid the path for me to get to this point.”

My how quickly things have changed.

I mean, yeah, people living in Hong Kong want freedom but do you know how much money China gives to the NBA?

Enough to pretend they're a standup country.

 

They would be better off with a "shut up and dribble" stance than the absolute garbage that has come from their mouths. They have put their profits above basic human rights. It's disgusting.

 

I see oppression is no longer a big deal among liberals, so I'm assuming they'll stop complaining about Israel

If anybody has a good list of retailers that support china and are taking steps to distance themselves from Hong Kong amid the protests such as the likes of apple blizzard and obviously the NBA I would love to see it.

Hong Kong is in need of support for freedom. The hypocrisy from the left is at an all time high with this one. Human rights violations and oppression written all over but it's okay but they want the socialism way to tell us what's right and wrong and for us to stop thinking for ourselves.
